Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

If you think it's a skunk, you might get a skunk trap. It's basically a trap out of plastic pipe just small enough that the skunk can not lift his tail. Only one good way to empty it though...into a pond...at least that's what our conservation dept guy said. If you trap it in a regular trap, getting rid of it will be real interesting! Or you can use a regular live trap. Just approach the trap slowly while holding a large tarp in front of you, hiding you from the skunk. When you get to the trap, slowly cover the trap with the tarp. Wait until skunk quiets down. Sink trap in a garbage can filled with water.
Animal control people I've talked to say that's the only way to dispose of a skunk without an "accident". Or you may get lucky, and the skunk is on "empty" after an earlier blast. It takes about two weeks to build up a full charge.

Houston, we have an Opossum. Clear as day, I can see the two hind feet...looks like it stepped up and leaned against the coop...

I can see a front foot just right by the door, hard to see, because it's got a lot of digging and messing around in the soil right there.

So I know at least I've got an opossum, but I'm still not ruling out a skunk too. I'll post pictures later.

Mornin'
So, I wuz at thegym this mornin'. They have a bank of TVs set up in front of the treadmills (bring yer own earphones). They're all set to the news in the a.m.
I'll usually watch FOX, but will sometimes follow the closed captioning on the other sets. This morning ABC was in Britain and I read...
"And later we'll talk with Prince Andrew. We'll talk about his past, his two daughters and, of course, Ferryingi."
I swear I'm not making that up.

Could be... but there's also HP Dataprotector, which we also use. It is backup management software.
