Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

One of which is that I kill the thread every time I post.
*sigh*
Continuing to apply for jobs.

Sorry to let you kill it. I'm just snowed under. I want to leave but I'm waiting to hear back from the campus police.
I'm gonna bring home a copy of the student newspaper so you can look at the help wanted for the travel agency. Hmm... they're looking for exotic dancers somewhere...

I don't think I'm THAT desperate.
But would like to see the travel agency. Kinda meant to go down today, but tomorrow will do, I suppose.
That way maybe I'll have a feel for whether or not Radio Shack is gonna happen.

The travel agency does?
I still wonder if it would up my chances if I went in person.
And I still have to sort out the resume question.

Well I think they're a chain? So maybe the administrative people don't work there, just the travel agents.
Since they give you a chance to write a cover letter, leave your resume as-is for them and explain in the cover letter that you really like helping people and are looking for something different.

I know you're busy and probably won't see this before I / you leave, but just in case...
I'm going to the grocery (finally) at three or so. Need anything?

I guess that'll work.
The reason I was asking about the resume deal was also because there's an admin assistant job open at CSU. I figure...it might be worth it to try for any and all things like that since it's easier to get jobs from within the system than it is from outside. i.e. I could get a secretarial job for six months or so and then start keeping an eye out for IT, and get my certification in the meantime.
And the pay isn't bad. Not super, but not at all bad.

Um... tequila?
Nah, I should be good. Though if they have those steaks in the butcher case for less than $3 get me one.

OK.
I think I may get frozen fruits and stuff to attempt smoothies. Gross to you. I know. ;-) But we must keep the blender appeased!

They say just to submit an updated resume and a state form. I could probably sneak in a cover letter, but it's not requested. And I just dunno if that'd be enough to get me in.
There's also a test - next Thursday. Bilbo's birthday. Is that a good omen?
And I'd have to go to Kinko's this evening or tomorrow to print out the cover letter and all that.

Go ahead and add a cover letter. Maybe they won't read it but they just might.
Test, huh? For what, reading ability?
