Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Nothing says "Wake up! It's a brand new day!" like a pudgy cat using most unladylike language about an inch from your ear at five thirty AM.
She never used ta do that.
Tam, on the other hand, usually stumbles out at about ten, looking bleary-eyed. He's not a morning cat.

*Sniff* Miss Cat hasn't clawed me in the face recently.
To: Overtaxed
Heh...luckily she's not tried that.
I dunno how well I'd handle that half-awake. She'd probably end up getting chucked against the wall.

I think TheCat is playing mind games again.

But nothing says "Wake up! It's a brand new day!" like the aroma of a good batch of coffee.I got up at 4:00 this morning so I could drink coffee until 5:00!! We're back from my cataract surgery. OB stopped at Starbucks on the way home and got us some of the really good stuff. My glasses are perched on my one good eye since the other is all bandaged up. It's giving me a headache so I think I'll go lie down for awhile...

Rest then, and prayers for your recovery! Was this just the first eye? I know several people who have been really pleased after cataract surgery.

This was the first, and worst, eye. Left eye in two weeks. People I've talked to are really pleased after they have it done, too. Only trouble is, they are all so much older than I am!! But when you can't sight down the barrel and see the target it's time to correct the problem.

Ok! Rest as much as you can...it's easier when both eyes are closed. Even when I scratched my cornea that time I found it easier to just sit with both eyes closed.

Forgot I was on OB's account. It didn't hurt at all, after I had them give me a second anti-anxiety shot. I was on such "high alert" one dose didn't do it.
Prayers for recovery always welcome. Gots to go take my vinegar water to speed the process along. LSA

Yay, chilly! This is my favorite time of year. Gonna miss the foliage, though. *snif*
Maybe I'll go take a walk after breakfast, before it warms up much.

Supposedly it's just gonna be mostly sunny. But we'll see.
I have the door open. Feels nice for now.

Ping to all wayward Hobbit-types. Don't you guys love us any more?
Just have been really busy with the anime con staff stuff. It went pretty well. My friend Brad stayed over at my place one day longer and we went to the range and threw some hot lead down it. Now I just need to catch up on sleep and rehookup everything I took to the con.

Looks like we got back in time to kill it Precious.
