If I'm remembering correctly though, there's another system behind this one, just off the coast of Africa.

I can't believe they sent Shep into a hurricane.
I think Shep is thinking the same thing. But I'm guessing 24-48 hours ago they weren't thinking it would be anywhere this bad. And now it's too late.
Shep actually said that some official speculated as many as 50,000 people dead.
I heard that quoted yesterday by the disaster management guy for the region, but that was if there was no evacuation, and based on people trying to ride out the storm in N O.
We're flipping back and forth between news and a Columbo movie. Haven't seen him on the video phone yet.
But they're guessing as many as 100,000 are still in the city.
