Mostly, I have nothing but disdain for NBC, but this morning, Matt L. was reporting live from IRAQ at 7:30 am EST, and he spoke to several soldiers, enlisted and officers. There was a video posted on FR a couple of weeks ago about a sniper that nearly killed a soldier, and he had that guy on too...
I was astounded. These guys were absolutely unbridled gung ho, ooozed 'American' from every pore, and when they all said Hi to wife kids and parents back home, I couldn't believe it. Matt and NBC actually gave time about how the coverage might be too skewed to the 'insurgents'.
For once, NBC earned my thanks this morning. Clearly, someone must have called some executive somewhere in Conn, and told him that they'd had better add some balance. That someone likely has a bit to say about budgets for jet aircraft engines I would guess...
Saw it. Liked it. Noticed that the soldiers were "EXPLICIT" in saying the body armour that saved that soldier was "original issue". TRUTH is a wonderful thing!!
I did not like the part where he was questioning the morale of the unit and they generally said it was good or better, and he said "I think I beleive you, but...".
That translates to:
"What you're saying is 180-degrees the opposite of what my network and all my liberal, Manhattan, socialite, elite friends have been saying for years, so you MUST be making it up. I think you are lying, but you're larger than me, and you have a weapon, so I'm going to pretend to agree with you so you don't make mincemeat out of me on live national TV."
Thank the Lord, now we know the TRUTH about the war!!! Those men and women are dying for OUR GOD AND OUR COUNTRY, and they're PROUD of it! It's too bad the liberal media only wants to show them coming home in body bags. We don't need to see the dead ones!!! Let's see the ones that are still alive and still proud of being AMERICAN SOLDIERS!!!
