Sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson got into trouble when they were younger-- for wearing skimpy bikinis to church.
While other churchgoers were decked out in their Sunday best, the singing siblings--whose father Joe used to be pastor--showed up in swimsuits and tiny shorts.
Joe is quoted by MSNBC.com's The Scoop as saying, 'When we were in church my daughters wore bikins and short shorts.'
'People in the church got mad at me for it then, but we believe what is in the heart is more important than what is in the outside.'

I've never been into bars and nightclubs for this thread topic's reason *lol* I've never been into clothes really but a friend took me to one and I wasn't happy. That was years ago. If you dress provacatively at certain bars and nightclubs then you really are advertising! That's how you get guys' attention out of the other women there. Here in NY there are more women than men. The music is loud and usually the men are there for one thing only anyway! LOL
I'm sure you are good looking and so your wife is happy you cover it up ;-) Women look too. I realised this yesterday when I was with my sister on the train to Manhattan. The conductor was well groomed and I admired how he looked. My sister said, HEY YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED! I don't know if women are tempted by men in speedos but I've seen it. Usually those women are sexually precocious and thinking about one thing only too (like Sex in the City's Samantha). I'll relate to you a story about how men behave around women who dress either like sluts or provacatively and how it relates to my statements to you and ToT.
I was walking in the mall one day. I've not been in the mall in a while. I can usually gauge which pop star is popular by how the majority of women/girls dress.
Well anyway I was walking along behing this girl who was obviously a fan of Britney Spears when two guys literally knocked me over to get in front to watch her then ask her out. I was single at the time too. It reminded me of when I tried to dress provacatively once to get a guy's attention. I learned it doesn't work as well if you aren't skinny so I went back to dressing very plainly.
Contrast this with a time when I had one floor length skirts and a over the elbow blouse. A guy came up to me and asked if I was a christian. I said, well...yes I am (you never know why people are asking!). He thought it was nice the way I dressed then walked away. I took it as a compliment then but looking back at the hell I had as a single woman, I realise that men make it very hard for modestly dressed women and girls to enjoy dressing that way. That's why I think the discussion of modesty is a bit onesided in the christian arena.
There are more books about why women/girls have to dress modestly but not many for boys. I do believe the only one I've heard about is called 'Every Man's Battle'. There need to be more books about men doing their part by appreciating women who don't sleep around, etc. Also, actions speak louder than words in how men behave around women. You would think christian men would act differently but they don't act that much different. Believe me as a woman I know *lol* I'd say my dearest is very unusual in the sort of christian men I've met. He likes the way I dress and I suppose that's what made him interested though I never asked!
One more thing... Jessica Simpson used to be one of my favorite singers BUT her father always struck me as a little strange. I think he shows too much interest in his daughters' bodies and now they're just cash cows to him.
caffeine deprived rant over.
I think you get more mileage out of your profile page than most! LOL!
LOL yup. I better stop mooching other people's bandwith.
I do like the way you dress and comport yourself, but what's most attractive about it is that you have the courage of your convictions: you march to your own drummer without fear. THAT'S attractive.
I must admit, I do wish you'd wear shorts more often. ;OD
The caption reveals the purpose of the pic:
The NAACP forgot to tell them that the [Confederate Battle Flag] is banned in South Carolina. Love those girls of Black Bike Week!
When calling someone a moron--in so short a sentence!--at least get the grammar right. LOL
Moron.
I hope my lengthly post clears things up. I didn't even drink tea this morning so I do feel like a moron *lol* Good usage of the term 'moron' demonstrated HERE: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1336387/posts
Good indeed, sweetie!
Good morning, btw.
good morning...I need a cup of tea dontcha think? :o)
trailoftears made some nasty, unfounded accusations against me... none of which are true. Yet, you agree with her on what she said about me? That's amazing.
BTW, sweetheart remind me never to post in threads like these again!
We're all on the same side. You'd not believe who is reading this thread watching we say. I'm sorry if I've come off as angry or whatever. That wasn't my intention at all. I pretty much agree with everything said on this thread. Have a blessed weekend!
You're so right. Thanks for the christian advice :-)
Im still firm that it is sad that the culture has come to the place that a womans body is no longer a sacred thing but a common element to be viewed by anyone and everyone. No place on her body is left up to mystery, it is all hanging out every where etc.
I agree christians should not fight, but then as with the world and it's wars, there are some things that are worth fighting for. Sooner or later we better understand that we willbe all held accountable for what we do, say, wear, etc. I think this is a clear scriptural teaching. Paul even goes so far as to say that if eating meat offends another brother not to eat meat.
I am not offended by someone cheapening themselves in this way. (meaning it doesnt cause me to be upset for my own soul). But i am offended at what it does to guys that are not really founded, and many folks from other cultures and religions i have avoided bringing to church because i knew they would be offended by the type dress going on.
I am not talking flip flops here, i dont care anything one way or the other about that. I am talking about the decision to let it all hang out and act like it is offensive that someone was upset about it all.
"LOL! Those are not my pictures. Do ask my future husband what I wear though before you assume how I dress. Thanks."
Great cyborg, im glad you got that solved. Then what was the reason for that being on your web page? Show someone elses daughter, mother, or sister with her wierd mad max suit down to her vagina? it is sad that you can't see what im talking about.
I agree with you.
