Well..
I tend to not let most see it 'usually'.
And yes, the blank shoot with the howitzers had something 'extra' in the blank rounds as you mentioned.
We were loaded and waiting for the order to do a time check four gun volley fire.
The blank rounds have guncotton, and a plastic cover overtop the guncotton.
Makes for a nice neat cup to put stuff in.
Like golfballs.
The Captain we had at the time was wandering around, and found that there were some golfballs around.
So he wanders by all the howitzers, and drops one golfball down each.
I said nothing, as I'd been sorta thinking the same thing but empty soda cans instead.
(I am a Fountain of BAD Ideas!)
Well, in the brush right in front of the howitzers, a group of fine outstanding hippified youth have decided to set up lawnchairs.
Directly in the path of fire.
(Well, under it, but burning and spattering wax would land where they were sitting. Not to mention minor overpressure from us firing.)
Well, we hear giggling and chuckling, plus a few wisps of funny smelling smoke curling out of the brush every once in awhile.
Every time we tried to get them to move, they bust out giggling and say they were invisible and we couldn't see them.
We give up trying to roust them.
We get the clear to do volley fire.
The second we did so, the brush came alive with people FLEEING across the golf course next door.
The golfballs flew rather well, hooked to the left though, and on fire.
I do not know how far they went or where they landed, but it was pretty impressive.
Anything for fun, right.
