The 10 easiest NFL teams to hate
Fox Sports ^ | August 11, 2005 | Randy Hill

When the NFL finds itself in our topical crosshairs, I don't play favorites.

:snip:

That's an impressive list of castaways. But it's time to allow the true hatin' to begin:

Baltimore Ravens

The variables add up in a hurry.

Beyond the shaky details of his murder-case involvement, linebacker Ray Lewis gains points with a player-introduction dance that suggests the stun gun is a major prop in Riverdance.

Teammate Jamal Lewis has just been released from the hoosegow, which was the reward for allegedly having his cell phone used in a drug deal. The Ravens are thrilled that Jamal doesn't have a machete that some pal can borrow.

Coach Brian Billick didn't need Jamal to put the con in condescending. He can do that all by himself.

But the true measure of Raven hatred has been established by team owner Art "Runway" Modell, who dragged the franchise out of Cleveland without bothering to liberate the city of Drew Carey.

WOW!!!!! Dallas ISN'T #1? What a change. I always thought hating the Cowboys the most was set in stone. This is great. Let someone else wear that mantle. I hope the Ravens can uphold the tradition of being the NFL's Most Hated Team. Now Dallas can get on with other business, like winning games and winning Super Bowls. A great time to start is this year.

"Also failing to meet certain hate requirements are the Arizona Cardinals, who merely serve as proof that Sun Devil Stadium is home to a pair of teams incapable of winning the Pac-10.

Now that is funny!!

Steelers, Eagles, and Redskins, probably in that order.

It's supposed to have a retractable roof. Cowboys Stadium is going to be built in Arlington near the Ballpark in Arlington, the Texas Rangers stadium.

Lets see:

1. Oakland Radahs--just move baby!

2. Baltimore Ravens--Ray Lewis (pass by lib media, won a super bowl with Trent Dilfer.)

3. Dallas Cowboys--dropped way down on the list for years until Emmett Smith retired and the Big Fat Tuna was hired. Would be number one if not for Al Davis and Ray the-spastic-bird Lewis.

I hate the Pats for two reason, one because they beat the steelers, and two because all of the sports writers, commentators, and journalists kissing their butts. I just don't like the Jags for some reason, oh, and add the Falcons

I can understand the comment about the sportswriters, ect...but remember last year before the playoffs started how the ESPN guys were writing them off? too old/ their time has come and gone blah blah? When they rolled Indy and , sorry, your Steelers, everybody was blown away! I do understand you not liking the "group think" and "kissing their butts", that is annoying,...but I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts....who knows when it will happen again for us long suffering {until recently} New Englanders!

All I recall is articles about how brilliant Bellichik is. And whether or not Ben should be wearing a glove.

Not a bad list, but it could use a little altering.

3. Packers
4. Cowboys

Writing them off. They were the stinking favorites against the number one seeded team on the road. Not what I would call writing them off. I remember big debates about how long it would take Bellichick to break Ben, and how he was wearing a glove and how that would mess him up, and how amazing Brady was, etc.

Enjoy it, it's coming to an end

I'm talking about the "on air" guys....if I recall correctly, Jaws was the only one saying they had a chance.Everybody else was slamming them...the obnoxious homer Merrill Hodge, Steve Young, even Sean Salsbury....I didn't read any of the articles that were written......the consensus was , their time is over.

My dad (an old newspaper guy) used to say that sports writers have the best jobs, and are usually the best and most interesting writers in the news business. This article is a case in point. However, the key to all Dallas Cowboys hatred is egomaniacal owner Jerry Jones, whose current face remains under warranty.

LOL! Mark Steyn couldn't have come up with a better line.

I guess I was focusing on the negative stuff I was hearing at the time....the folks who were saying Bellichick would break Ben were right...24 to 7 at halftime. We'll see how fast it comes to an end, but I bet the Patriots will win another SB before Pittsburgh does....
