Watkins Glen International continues a road-racing tradition that dates back to 1948 -- when sports cars competed on the streets of the village at the southern tip of scenic Lake Seneca. The circuit, which at one time hosted the F1 United States Grand Prix, has grown to become one of the most respected facilities in the northeast.

Northurn Burton losing brakes; Rocket and Smoke both by, as Vickers runs away with it.

Crash up to 7th, still 12.936 seconds back.

I read about that last night. CooCoo's had cancer, and isn't doing good. Prayers up for the Marlin family.

Gordons crew chief uses the same bulky Motorola head phones that NFL coaches use. I have often wondered why in this minaturized age those ugly and hugh units are used. Just an observation.

Maybe because the bulky ones can block out sound a lot better.

5 to go; lights still on the pace car (though they haven't turned off until the inner loop).
