Watkins Glen International continues a road-racing tradition that dates back to 1948 -- when sports cars competed on the streets of the village at the southern tip of scenic Lake Seneca. The circuit, which at one time hosted the F1 United States Grand Prix, has grown to become one of the most respected facilities in the northeast.

This is an impound race, all practice is on Friday, qualifying on Saturday (unless they change their mind) FRFL picks must be made by Saturday morning 2am pacific time. I will update the practice times as we get closer to Friday as well as adding the qualifying lineup etc.

I guess they kinda sorted out their problem with Petty's car, but running even worse than Jr.

I just don't understand the 8's problem. The driver has run very well at this track when he had the equipment!!!

It's not Jr that's the problem. Look at how he's finished here before. But now, after the crew swap it's in the dumper again!

Petty made the 5-minute clock to run a 119.347 (25th of 30). Scott Riggs barely beats that with a 119.674 (25th of 31).

Burton all over the place on track.

But makes 9th place.

Says it's loose at the inner loop. No kidding!

Northurn Burton with a surprisingly-quick run - 121.250 puts him 9th of 32.

Crash puts himself into the show 2nd of 33 with a 122.183. That puts Anthonly Lazzaro on the bubble.

Flash 3rd of 36th with a 122.056
Chris Cook 27th of 37 with a 119.821 (he's in the show, Anthony Lazzaro's out, and Tom Hubert's on the bubble assuming the rain doesn't rain out the rest of qualifying)

I think I have a Nascar qualifying computer myself.. dang thing is sputtering more than ever lately.

About ready to get a new one, but then that means XP. yuk.

Fellows and Pruett both have to time in. If they call qualifying, Pruett's heading home along with Chris Cook (who just timed himself in) and Jorge Goeters (scheduled to go out 40th). Anthony Lazzaro is leading the rain-dance (it's his last shot at making it).
