Just to show Im not just about Linux ;) Personally I think OSX will take some of the wind out of this but I relly like the idea of a clean desktop built BSD build..

Actually, I'm kidding you are pretty balanced in reporting on Open Source as well as MS and Mac.
Thanks, as usual, for the ping.

So what would be the advantage to me, if I had other Linux OS's, to switch to BSD? Is it easier to install? Come with more "bundled" software? Any idea how the "dependancy" problem is handled? How would you rate this as opposed to Red Hat or Suse or other Linux flavors?

I ran FreeBSD as a desktop around version 4.9, if memory serves.
Java was a pain to install, thanks to Sun. It would run VMWare 2.x under Linux combatability, but after VMWare went to 3.x, no more workee.
So I went back to Linux, mostly for Visio and MS Project since those required that I use VMWare.
My lab machines are all server types with cheap, bare-bones video cards but I'll likely build up a machine to try this out. I like what FreeBSD has done with USB, SMP and wireless, and the Microsoft driver wrapper is quite elegant.
I already run FreeBSD on my servers so nothing in this is going to be a big surprise.
My only real concern about it will be the smaller amount of software available on a BSD platform. I imagine most things I need that aren't available in a BSD port will install under Linux compatibility, but I know from experience that not everything will.
It will be interesting to see if I can build a desktop machine with DesktopBSD that will fill all of my needs.
