JAGGER ROCKS BUSH: 'HOW COME YOU'RE SO WRONG, MY SWEET NEO-CON'
"You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/ You call yourself a patriot. Well, I think your are full of sh*t!... How come you're so wrong, my sweet neo-con."
Ready to drop in the coming weeks, a new Bush-bashing tune from the ROLLING STONES: "Sweet Neo Con."
"It is direct," Mick Jagger says with a laugh to fresh editions of NEWSWEEK.
"Keith [Roberts] said, 'It's not really metaphorical.' I think he's a bit worried because he lives in the U.S." Jagger explains. "But I don't."
The lyric also mocks National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice.
News about the song surfaced a few weeks ago with many expecting that the song would not make the finally cut.
The band kicks off its world tour in Boston on Aug. 21.
Developing...
my sentiments exactly. thank you!
Actually, you're right. The story is that he pointed a gun at the Stones, and the Hells Angels stabbed and beat him with pool cues.
I guess that is what happens when you get the Hells Angels to do security at your gig, and pay them in beer.
HA ha...
What makes me laugh is imagining Jagger coming in to the studio with this crap song and Keef trying to talk him out of it, but the best he can come up with is "uh, it's not really metaphorical."
It amuses me how much leftists use the term "neocon" in the invective thinking that it means a far-right conservative. Liberals should embrace neo-cons because with an exeption of foreign policy, there is not a whole heck of a lot the disagree with them on.
Nothing's sadder than seeing this craggy old granddad dancing around in his shiny scarves and spandex shirts. A sixty year old rebel? Time to grow up, Mick.
Next stop: tapioca pudding, Depends and portable oxygen.
Just further proof that punk is cooler than rock and roll: our bad boys at least have the decency to die off early.
Meet Angie, an election worker for John Kerry...
Angie, angie, when will those republican states all disappear?
Angie, angie, where will it lead us from here?
With John Kerry in our souls and not enough votes
You cant say were satisfied
But angie, angie, you cant say we never tried
Angie, we're liberal, but aint it time we said good-bye?
Angie, the liberal, remember all those November nights we cried?
All the liberal dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke
Let me whisper in your ear:
Angie, angie, where will it lead us from here?
Oh, angie, dont you weep, Hillary Clinton is still in our midst
I hate that sadness in your eyes
But angie, angie, aint it time we said good-bye?
With John Kerry in our souls and not enough votes
You cant say were satisfied
But angie, we're liberal baby
Evrywhere I look I see republican red states
There aint a liberal that comes close to you
Come on baby, dry your eyes
But angie, angie, aint it good to be a liberal?
Angie, angie, they cant say we never tried
One less CD to buy. I'm saving a fortune by tuning out the left wingers.
Hey Mick, SCREW YOU!
I attended the Altamont concert. It was the end of the "Summer of Love". It was also a personal "Wake Up!!" call; cut ma' hair, went 'Corporate' never looking back...

I'm glad I own a few Stones' albums as, with this latest spew of Jagger garbage, I'll forego further purchases..and the tour when it arrives in CA.
Think I'll drop an E to the producers (not that it will matter) and tell 'em exactly why too.
A bunch of DUmmies just rushed the ticketmaster booth.
Seriously though, yeah, his farewell tour could use an infusion of cash and interest. It's a frewell tour so he doesn't have to play this hand for too long.
Hey DUmmies! Jagger is just $10 away from a successful farewell tour and he's going to give the obligatory Bush bashing. Get your tickets now!
Who needs Springsteen, Jagger, Dixie chicks or any of these anal orifices?
Altamont must have been a pretty radical concert... far before my time though!
Speaking of going straight and corporate, a good friend of mine in Ann Arbor Michigan, his parents are uber-conservative, GOP committee people, but in the 1960s they were smoking pot, taking LSD and big time followers of the MC5. I called him on Christmas day, and his mom knows I'm a big MC5 fan... she yelled out from the kitchen "KICK OUT THE JAMS, MOTHERF@#KER!!!" at the top of her lungs.
Must have been an acid flashback...
:-)
Actually, Jagger attended the London School of Economics for a few years, but dropped out to pursue music. So, he's had some college. (The song is still idiotic, but we need to be accurate with our complaints.)
Actually,"Cluster F**K" more appropriately comes to mind...
Like 300,000 attendees... thrown together with no planning....few sanitation facilities...desolate bare hills behind Livermore...announcements just days prior...Hells Angels for 'security'...batches of bad LSD and other drugs..and all for FREE!
It was really a Stones ego trip (Jagger himself sprang the concert idea publically; thought the Angels as security would be "cool"...) and a sorry fiasco of a "Western Woodstock" attempt.
See the movie "Gimme Shelter" which features documentary footage of the 'event' including the stabbing at the foot of the stage. Pretty sick.
I've seen "Gimme Shelter" and I have a bootleg recording of "Live At Altamont Speedway". Even on the audio, the feeling of panic and mayhem is quite palpable.
Put him on the terrorist watch list. Deprot him if he tries to enter the country.
