soccer is realy gay...
Because it's landscaping with defense.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring game.
Good Lord, where do we start?
One reason is Europeans say we should like it. Some even get angry when we don't care about it.
Also it's gay and stupid.
Soccer players are girly men...la
Reminds me too much of hockey. Strange 'off sides' rule.
I agree soccer players are some of the best athletes in the world. But to answer your question. I dont think it is hated. I just think most people dont want to see people run back and forth and end up with a final score of 1-0.
Soccer is usually the domain of snooty liberals who don't like real sports..........
Baseball takes more skill than you think. That's why you don't see 5 year old girls playing it all over suburbia, a la soccer.
1) Americans love scoring, and soccer doesn't offer enough of it. To the uninitiated, it just looks like a bunch of guys running around a field for 90 minutes and not accomplishing much.
2) The French play it. ;)
Soccer is a great sport to play, but I cannot understand why ANYONE would find it entertaining to watch. To my mind, American football is by far the greatest spectator sport. Baseball can be a trifle boring but I like to watch it anyway. Basketball is also great to watch. But watching soccer is just incredibly boring. Why it has such a huge following in Europe is beyond me.
And NASCAR just puts me to sleep...
Because a bunch of euroweenie leftists keep telling us how much better soccer is than "American Sports."
Soccer players at my son's high school were referred to as "grass fairies".
I played soccer for the first time since I was a child last year in a league... and I will give without question the game requires more endurance than most other sports... I will also say the following:
I HAVE NEVER SEEN A SPORT PLAYED BY MORE CRY BABIES IN MY LIFE! Every incidental contact has players whining to the refs.
I will also say that of all the sports I have played in my adult life, the percentage of gay players is definately higher.
It is a game that requires strategy and skill, but no more than other sports.
That's my personal first hand synopsis of Soccer.
I like it a little but it's a tad boring. I mean, it's not uncommon to see scores of 1 - 0 or 2 - 1. That's a long time between goals, hmmm?
I did enjoy indoor soccer much more when it was popular here in San Diego back in the 80's.
I don't hate it, but I can understand why Americans don't really want to watch all the running back and forth across the field with so few goals to show for it. To me, American football can be just as tedious. Start, stop, start, stop, start, stop, while inching back and forth down the field.
This is bad even for a nonsensical vanity rant. I dare you to (1) throw a curveball and (2) hit a curveball.
In the second period, Germany scored the first goal of the game: Germany 1, USA 0.
At that point, the announcers said, "Well, the Americans have quite a hole to climb out of now."
When the impact of that statement sunk in, I turned off the game and have not watched a minute of soccer to date.
