A nice winning streak at home would make a big difference, and they have the talent to do that, but they just haven't.

Martinez, Peralta, and Hafner hit well on the road and at Jacob's Field. Sizemore and Crisp haven't done so and need to step up.

Sabathia needs to be traded. He's awful at home, going 1-5 with an ERA of nearly 6. He's actually okay outside of Cleveland (7-4 record). That accounts for several of those home losses that hurts the overall home win total.

Why does Sabathia struggle at home? He sucked last year, too. He was 5-5 with a 5.00+ ERA.

FYI..As of today..Red Sox lead the Yankees by 5.5

Sawx have 49 left, Yankees 50, including 6 games head to head.

Assume the teams split the six, and the Sawx play at the same % now .580, as they have through the season..all pretty reasonable, right?

That gives the Red Sox 94 wins..and to TIE, the Yankes would have to go 31-13 in their remaining games..NO WAY..not witht hat rotation..Nope..it's over..
