hey... last night was fun!...
Yeah, there were some connection problems and your usual Jack*ss, but we actually succeeded in fighting together some. We can try different servers, and preferrably have an alternate to switch to. My problem with rox is that it always seems to be full or grossly imbalanced on skill levels. It's just no fun to get constantly blown away at your only remaining spawn point. I think it would be great if we could find an empty server that we could practice on... like doing a 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 so we can hone our squad skills.
But these are what I'm playing now. It will definitely be different next month. Heck, I like all types of games, so I jump around.
Thanks for asking.
ok... np... just keep me updated so you dont get pings on games u don't play online.
Missed it last night, damn. I'll be watchin' for you guys!
Yeah it was the bf2info server. My former server alliance must have gone TU. I am all for a reg night/sched for fun. I have too much else (ok guitar) going on to just keep checking all the time. The few times we have played even against odds we were at least giving them hell. And with not coordination. [frp]doodad
I can relate; my son bought me BF2 for Father's Day. Unfortunately, my nVidia GeForce 4200 video card was obsolete, so I went and bought an nVidia GeForce 6600 card ($145). When I went to install it, I realized that it needed to also be plugged into the power supply. However, the cord on the PSU was too short, and the 160w PSU was underpowered for my 2 HDD, 2 DVD drives, several USB devices, etc., so I went to the local computer store and bought a new 300w PSU and installed it ($50; had I sent to NewEgg, I probably would have saved at least 30%, but I was impatient).
So I spent almost $200 to play my $50 game, and I just can't get used to BF2 yet. Part of that is because it's summer, and I spend less time gaming, and just haven't spent the time to learn the game yet. I expect I'll start playing more in the fall; for now, I'm still playing Desert Combat.
I love DC...let me know if I can join you somewhere. You are welcome to join us in BF2 anytime, lots of times the guys will go to a near empty server to practice.
Anyway, I'm not doing BF2 yet. My vid card currently isn't up to snuff, but I hope to fix that sometime relatively soon - been eyeing the 6600GT myself. Sorry for the confusion.
Understand completely. I am on the neverending upgrade plan. Thank God we know how to add/build. I feel for the guys I support. They keep buying cheap dells and wondering why halo and BF2 don't work.
I'm looking forward to gaming with the General.:)
Good choice for price. I did the same. 6800s are now the same price as I paid 2 months ago. Upgade upgrade upgrade. New power for me so I can look towards the mobo switch in my future.
They're fine for granny who just does internet and email, but terrible for gamers. I just built my first box this past Xmas (for my 13 y.o. son), and will never buy an already-assembled computer again (unless it's a laptop); from now on, it's strictly home built for me.
Hmmm, now you've got me flipping through my mental rolodex to see if you're someone I might have pissed off recently ;)
Heya tomakaze, forgot to ask you earlier... which console? And... are you playing all of those regularly online?
I'll list you for all of them for now, but please let me know if there are any you are not playing online.
Thanks!... and Welcome to Freeping Gamers!
What is NWN?
Hiya Xenalyte,
I'm listing you and Bacon Man under all games mentioned.
However, I don't think I should list freepers who have not posted or otherwise requested it. (Bacon's post I interpreted as approval of the request)
Thanks!... and Welcome to Freeping Gamers!
Yea that's fine. If not already mentioned you can list me under all the Dooms, Quakes, Half Lifes, Unreal and Unreal Tournaments, Mechwarriors, Descents, Wing Commanders, most of the Ultimas, Far Cry, the 1st Halo and way too many more to even begin listing. Now that I think about it, I may have the beginnings of an addiction here. ........ nah.
Two and a half hours to game time.
