In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of four "Words for the Day".
1. habromania
Noun: [from Greek words habros meaning graceful or delicate and mainesthai to be mad]:
a kind of insanity during which the delusions are of a cheerful character
2.quackle [onomatopoeic]
to choke or suffocate
3. uranism [YUR-en-ism: from the Greek Urania, another name for the Greek goddess of sex and love Aphrodite. This is what my 3-volume Websters says. I thought Urania was just the Muse of astronomy. Then there was the Titan Uranus who was the sky god and first ruler. He was the son of Gaea, who created him without help. He then became the husband of Gaea (why the complex is named after Oedipus, who at least didn't know he was marrying his mom, instead of Uranus, is beyond me, but I digress) and together they had many offspring, including twelve of the Titans. His rule ended when when Cronus, encouraged by Gaea, castrated him. He either died from the wound or withdrew from earth.]
a homosexual condition especially when involving physically normal males
4. Friday word:
souteneur [pronounced soo-ten-EUR, from French sustenir to support]
A type of pimp, a man who cohabits with a prostitute, lives off her earnings, and often solicits for her - also called cadet
Example sentence:
Souteneur: think Bill and President Hillary.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using one or more of the Words for the Day in one or more sentences.
The sentences must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Frankly, I didn't expect that statement from you. For some reason, I have you pegged as a cuddly uber-mom. Would you care to expound? Is it the quality of the cuddling? Is it the timing, the arm falling asleep...?
It's just part of the non-mushy xsmommy persona. :)
She'd rather repeat ; )
well which are we talking about, cuddling with kids or cuddling after sex?
i would truly not characterize myself as a cuddler, maybe LE is right maybe it goes along with being not into the mush and gush.
that reminds me of lunch the other day. after picking up xshub and xsboy at the airport we went for lunch to maggianos in Denver. it is an italian chain where you can order family style and they bring the food in courses, well we were done with the salads, they had cleared the table and we are sitting there. i was ok for awhile then i started to get irked and i asked a passing waiter where our waitress was. i mean the lunch rush was long gone and we have a short amount of time to spend in denver and we are sitting in the damn restaurant. so she comes out and instead of apologizing and saying the food would be right out, she gives me this pert look like, yes? can i help you? and i said, we have had a fair amount of DOWNTIME here, can we STEP THINGS UP a little bit? we are only here for the afternoon and didn't intend to spend the day having lunch. After she went to check on the food, the kids were laughing uproariously at me saying Mommy that was so SNOTTY! xshub was pretending not to know me. i was perfectly nice to her after that and she did speed things up. now the kids will repeatedly say the things i was saying. Can we step things up a little bit here? so yeah, i guess that same sentiment applies in the manner you suggested : )
We are talking about whichever one you can live without.
Actually, I was referring to the way you took advantage of me, when i just wanted to be held... ; )
xsbrownie is a cuddler and she will still cuddle with me when we are reading a book together. i love xshub but we don't need to be all up on each other constantly.
oh RMFE.
They don't have baseball in Russia - you're welcome to move there where you need not be bothered by the horror that is America's Pastime.
dollars to donuts you are a cuddler also! ; )
Neil Armstrong, first human to set foot on the moon, is 75 years old today.
Meanwhile, Grim Jr. is 28 y.o. today.
Happy birthday!
you have a 28 yo!~ GOD you're an old geezer! ; ) how much younger i am, with my 11 yo baby : ) happy bday to Grim the Younger!
Slightly off topic:
My pastor gave a great sermon on what children owe their parents. 1.Obedience while under their roof. 2. Honor them, by appreciating and respecting the events in their lives that shaped them into the people they are. 3. Love them-and he focused on adult children loving their elderly parents physically, because so many elderly people become isolated, entirely without affectionate touches. and 4. to ask them how they can pray for them.
I got the surprise of my life when I asked my mom this question. She asked me to pray that she would be able to change.
She could regress back to the Sears catalog days....
xs ripping pages out of the Sears catalog....conjures up some entertaining images, eh?
i will not discuss such coarse topics!
