In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of four "Words for the Day".
1. habromania
Noun: [from Greek words habros meaning graceful or delicate and mainesthai to be mad]:
a kind of insanity during which the delusions are of a cheerful character
2.quackle [onomatopoeic]
to choke or suffocate
3. uranism [YUR-en-ism: from the Greek Urania, another name for the Greek goddess of sex and love Aphrodite. This is what my 3-volume Websters says. I thought Urania was just the Muse of astronomy. Then there was the Titan Uranus who was the sky god and first ruler. He was the son of Gaea, who created him without help. He then became the husband of Gaea (why the complex is named after Oedipus, who at least didn't know he was marrying his mom, instead of Uranus, is beyond me, but I digress) and together they had many offspring, including twelve of the Titans. His rule ended when when Cronus, encouraged by Gaea, castrated him. He either died from the wound or withdrew from earth.]
a homosexual condition especially when involving physically normal males
4. Friday word:
souteneur [pronounced soo-ten-EUR, from French sustenir to support]
A type of pimp, a man who cohabits with a prostitute, lives off her earnings, and often solicits for her - also called cadet
Example sentence:
Souteneur: think Bill and President Hillary.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using one or more of the Words for the Day in one or more sentences.
The sentences must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Man, I am tired. Fixing to crash. Have a good night - hope the ankle is better.
LOL!!!!
I can imagine you are tired. Sleep well, FRiend/
The ankle was doing much better, until I did a really stupid thing this afternoon. I was startled by one of the chimes jumping the chain a few notches on the grandfather clock and used the broken foot to get out of my chair..........I'm hurting really bad tonight, but have to hang in a while longer before I can take another pain killer.
Believe me, you would rather get grabbed by some perv on an airplane..
So lets write a story...something about decks, airplanes, and wind sheer.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been staying away from pain killers - until tonight. It is only the second one I will have taken since last weekend.
we didn't stay til the very end, maybe they had them, xsbrownie would have gone nuts : )
no, we weren't in Dallas at 3pm. our flight left Denver after 3pm and it was an hour and a half flight. there was lightning when we landed and it took an extra 15-20 min for them to be able to pull into the gate, our flight to DC was supposed to leave around 7pm Dallas time, but didn't leave til 8:30 or so, which put us into Reagan at 12:30 am. we were pretty tired. If your flight was not affected by the T-storm, we weren't there at the same time, bc as soon as we landed there was mass confusion with flights and gates switching bc of the delay due to T-storm.
Oh. I was in DFW from 1:30 to 5:30, dallas time.
xshub and xsboy had a noon flight out of denver that was direct to Dulles, they were home around 6:30-7pm.
you must have gotten out just in time. the times are very confusing, we left mt. time for DFW which is central and were heading for EST and i had never changed my watch the entire time i was there. all i know is when we landed i thought we had about an hour til our next flight and our next flight was supposed to leave around 7pm, so we must have landed around 6pm Dallas time.
What would they do if a fetus was caught committing first degree murder?

Mind boggling...............
I hope you had a chance to atch even a little bit of a nap on the flight home.
Why do I insist on falling for your links ???????/
not a wink for some reason. i had a good book though which kept me occupied, but i am dang tired today. it will take a while to get reoriented. we haven't been in this house for a long time! i have no laundry bc the condo had a washer and dryer and so i was caught up wiht that. it is just putting stuff away and getting organized for the week to come.
No laundry is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
I bet you will sleep extra well tonight :)
i am sure i will, but i am already dreading what i am going to find on my desk at work after 2 weeks away from that place.
I thought that was the liberal definition of "pregnancy"?
I understand your dread........it is probably not going to be a pretty sight.............but there is nothing to do about it today - so pretend you are still on vaca :)
