The news article is a terrible report to be honest...

There are no details about what went on in the marriage before this terrible incident. How long had they been married? Had there been any abusive incidents by EITHER spouse towards the other?

I happen to know a woman who belittled her husband in every way, not a good provider, you're stupid, ignorant and later claimed their children weren't his and on and on, for several years. The man finally committed suicide, his note explained he just couldn't take being emotionally abused in that way any more...

WE have no clue as to what went on BEFORE the end of this particular game...

Nevertheless there is a degree of humor to be found in the stereotypes of husbands and wifes that, I'm sure we all see in this story.

Actually, and this IS true...the shepard puts dye on the CHEST of the ram before rutting. When the ram is done, any ewe he's serviced has the dye on their...back.

Different rams get different colors for traceability.

I've never been a fan of domestic murder resulting in death penalties. Stranger on stranger - that should almost be automatic death penalty, but domestics.. Honestly, I think it just encourages the murder-suicide result to happen.

As to the guy, he's horribly pathetic for what he's done, but killing him isn't going to stop domestic violence (thus no deterrence value.) Ahh well, I'm sure I'm in the minority.

As a single male who spends every night alone, who would give almost anything just to have a nice Christian wife to share my heart with and cuddle with...I think this slimy, detestable a$$hole is right down there with Scott Peterson, O.J. Simpson and Michael Schiavo in the moldy tile-cracks at the bottom of the human gene pool. These barbaric animals should all be rounded up, castrated and sent to the guillotine!

Some suggestions:

1. Don't turn the computer on each night.

2. Get out and meet some more people, do some activies OUTSIDE your home.

3. Work on your attitute and vocabulary. It's a big turn-off.

Thanks kindly. And in the interest of being fair to MotleyGirl70, I do understand her sense of horror at this senseless crime. She sees it in stark black and white, with no humor allowed, and I can appreciate that. Women (especially) who read of such stories automatically put themselves into the victims shoes and think "my God, that might have been me in a different life situation", and they're right.

We men on the other hand, don't see the actions of the killer as being a wholesale condemnation of our gender, because fortunately our gender is not like that as a whole. We have our share of bad apples, JUST LIKE our opposite gender does.

Inhumanity in fact, knows NO gender barrier.

But what we see more and more, is what I have long called the "vulgarization/brutalization" of American society, and it started when we evicted God out of our schools and public places, and to fill that vacuum, you can be pretty sure of not being proven wrong if you come to believe that EVIL (meaning Satan himself) was more than happy to take the place of God and our Judeo-Christian values that our Nation was based on.

Now this might sound a little too high brow for a post regarding some putz who killed his wife because he wanted to watch sports on TV, but it is the same mentality that sees no problem with jamming a pair of scissors into the skull of a nearly born infant for a "partial birth abortion", thinks that it is quite OK for the State to starve and dehydrate a woman to death, and this all equates to a cheapening of human life.

So why do we make jokes about so serious a subject?

As one poster already alluded to, it is in fact a self-protective mechanism whether or not we wish to admit it.

It was a terrible crime, the guy deserves the death penalty, and we're going to make jokes about it.

Some might call that the "duality of man".
