Governor Pawlenty isn't mincing any words when it comes to letting PETA know exactly what he thinks about its request to declare walleye pike off limits to anglers.
Pawlenty dined on walleye chunks, walleye filets and walleye cakes on Wednesday night at Tavern on Grand in St. Paul.
Last week, PETA requested that Pawlenty protect the state fish, citing recent studies that claim fish can feel pain.
Pawlenty says PETA has quote "gone of the deep end." He said visitors to the state often dined out at restaurants known for their walleye. Case in point he said, there were people from Sweden and Great Britain in the room next to where the Governor's party was dining, who had come to Tavern on Grand because they'd been told the walleye was great.
Pawlenty sampled all the walleye served up and said, he believed those tourists had been told the truth, walleye makes for a tasty dinner.
That's fine, Tim, but I hope you have a little crow on the side with the walleye. Minnesota spending must be cut - not reduced or augmented with stealth taxes.
Good going, governor. I've been looking favorably on this guy making a presidential run in 2008, and this certainly doesn't change my impression of him.
Hmm...I don't understand that. Oh well...
I love it when Republicans find their backbone and do a public in-your-face to the commies.
In my book, any time a Conservative Roman Catholic Governor publicly mocks a liberal activist group it's news for this website. But then what do I know?
Screw you!
You'll never win pres. I miss you posting too!
YUM! Looks good! :D
