Comcast has come up with a plan for local fans of the increasingly popular Sci Fi Channel that only a stockholder could love.
In the name of what a spokeswoman for the cable operator calls "conformity," it's bucking Sci Fi next week from the basic tier where two-thirds of its local customers now find it to a more expensive digital service where the other third already gets it.

they did that once before then moved it back
WHOOPS!!
Sorry I read your post wrong.....
I thought it said how much to daley pay to do this...
I think all of DirecTV's HD channels have a non-HD counterpart (i.e. HBO HD, and plain HBO).
But I agree, dump Comcast and go DirecTV. I had more outages when on cable than I did on Dish, or do on DirecTV. All the others (that Ive seen or heard of) DVR's can't compete with DirecTV's TiVo DVR. And best of all, I can take DirecTV with me to the football game!!
Already pointed out, but but no signal = black screen, not snow. Nice try.
And I had more outages on cable than I ever did on Dish, or do on DirecTV.
Cable Sucks
"...but for not showing Nationals games to their fans in the DC area."
Don't recall the whole story about this but I believe this is the fault of the team's owner (De Bartolo??), and not Comcast.
If you also have Bellsouth local service (at thr right service level of course), you can get discounts on DirecTV and Bellsouth DSL, and Cingular Wireless. I've got it all, and saved over Dish Network, Nextel, and Earthlink. And I like DirecTV better than Dish, so its a win-win-win!
Sorry, Joel, Crow and Tom, it was fun while it lasted though...
There is never snow on satellite as pointed out by others. Only the severest of rain storms has ever knocked out my satellite service and never more than a few minutes while the storm is approaching.
Directv is your friend. NFL Sunday Ticket, YES, and NFL channel not available on Dish Network.
I tried Comcast for a year. Great HD, but lousy standard definition picture quality, miserable customer service, and ever increasing prices. I switched back to Directv and wondered why I ever switched. Oh yeah...HD. That should be up to par soon as well.
Comcrap will never have my money unless I absolutely have to use them.

First, you are talking about Peter Angelos.
Second, it is comcast's fault, because they could show the games if they wanted to. They simply refuse because they don't have the exclusive rights.

Who are you...a saloon lawyer? If my publisher doesn't have "exclusive rights" to my work, it doesn't get published.
Do you think ABC shares rights to "Desperate Housewives" with another station?
You saw Eureka? How was the cast?
I've enjoyed both seasons. The thing I don't like about Sci Fi is that they have a long history of ruining good shows. It started with Sliders and continued through Farscape. Well, ok so Farscape got better and better and then they killed it but when Sliders went from Fox to Sci Fi they replaced the writers and it sank like a lead zeppelin. Then The Invisible Man....and they stopped replaying the Friday night line up Saturfay morning...
My kids are big fans of Jordan Hinson. She plays the character Zoe in Eureka. She was great in Go Figure. How was she in Eureka?
Since you wrote this, the last 2 episodes have been fantastic. Looking forward to tonight's.
She was very good in the pilot, playing the lead character's daughter. It's a very quirky show with a lot of personality. I think it will do very well!
