Comcast has come up with a plan for local fans of the increasingly popular Sci Fi Channel that only a stockholder could love.
In the name of what a spokeswoman for the cable operator calls "conformity," it's bucking Sci Fi next week from the basic tier where two-thirds of its local customers now find it to a more expensive digital service where the other third already gets it.

How much was dickie daley paid to do this?
Isn't Comcast a private company?
"Isn't Comcast a private company?"
Yes.
DirecTV is your friend...
I turned off my Comcast about 18 months ago. What's the standard rate nowadays after "taxes"? $70?
WHAT - A - SCAM
Just another reason why we need more competition.
The operative word is 'conformity'. DirecTV will 'conform' shortly, as well.
My fave show on SciFi was Battlestar Galactica, but the new season has been awful so far. The 'shine' is clearly off the show for now, maybe they can improve.
I saw a test screening of the pilot for a new SciFi Network tv show, 'Eureka,' here in Las Vegas last weekend. It was pretty good and if they can capture the same atmosphere in the weekly series that the 90 minute pilot movie created, it should be a favorite among SF show fans.
Yes. And in America, it's perfect legal to criticize decisions made by a private company.
Another reason to switch back to Dish for video and to Fios for broadband.
PING!
I deleted SCI FI channel from my Directv channel lineup because it has too many commercials..(they turned a 1 hr Star Trek episode into 90 minutes.....that's 45 minutes of commercials!).
Is that a dish? I was thinking of switiching from Comcast to dish until I tried to watch TV at my brother-in-law's house during a rain storm. Nothing but snow---something he also gets on the tube when it really snows.
Well, if I have to pay more to get Scifi, then I'll be calling a service tech out once a week for "problems".
The snake can slither both ways.
"but the new season has been awful so far."
And I hated the first season and now can't wait for Friday night and BSG.
switch to DirecTV.
If you do, ping me for my name/info so that I get a free month of my subscription (current promo)!!! ;-)

It is? Dang. I thought Wombley the God of Free Enterprise would strike me dead by dropping an Ayn Rand book on my head all the way from the heavens. Since I don't have to worry about that any more I'd like to say, Starbucks is too expensive and should require all customers to bath before entering the store!
This happened last month!
They took away the channel
just one day before
their mutant shark film
was broadcast. So I missed it.
Damn! It looked so good!
I get SiFi on my Dish Sat. already. Does that mean any changes?
