I turned off my Comcast about 18 months ago. What's the standard rate nowadays after "taxes"? $70?

Just another reason why we need more competition.

My fave show on SciFi was Battlestar Galactica, but the new season has been awful so far. The 'shine' is clearly off the show for now, maybe they can improve.
I saw a test screening of the pilot for a new SciFi Network tv show, 'Eureka,' here in Las Vegas last weekend. It was pretty good and if they can capture the same atmosphere in the weekly series that the 90 minute pilot movie created, it should be a favorite among SF show fans.

Another reason to switch back to Dish for video and to Fios for broadband.

I deleted SCI FI channel from my Directv channel lineup because it has too many commercials..(they turned a 1 hr Star Trek episode into 90 minutes.....that's 45 minutes of commercials!).

Well, if I have to pay more to get Scifi, then I'll be calling a service tech out once a week for "problems".

>Comcast moving Sci Fi Channel to digital service (HIGHER PRICE!)
This happened last month!
They took away the channel
just one day before
their mutant shark film
was broadcast. So I missed it.
Damn! It looked so good!

I get SiFi on my Dish Sat. already. Does that mean any changes?

They put the Military Channel on digital. With the DVR box, my wife is always complaining because I have filled the memory of it with, FIREPOWER, and BATTLEFIELD TACTICS. Oh, and Fox News' War Stories.
They also moved the Game Show Network to digital. Win Ben Stein's Money and Street Smarts reruns are on there.
I bet they won't dare move BET(Barely Even Television) to digital.

The price I was paying for regular cable with 3 premium channels kept going up, 70, 75, 80/month. I decided to go with a dish, but switched to comcast digital cable. Now I have 150 channels, about 15 commercial free channels, including nicktoons, and 6 encore movie channels for 50 per month. I dropped the 3 premium movie channels, but I can still get them, because according to their own rules, when you switch to digital cable, you get one digital cable converter for your main tv, plus the analog cable service you had before the switch on your secondary tvs.

Can you say "Dish Network?" Better service, lower price, and Sci-Fi channel on basic service.
