MY NEW PET PEEVE

Posted on 08/02/2005 10:36:12 AM PDT by redlocks322

I just spent my lunch hour at the grocery store. I was so ticked off by the time I left, I had sweat rolling down my face.

First of all, (and I'm not knocking stay at home mom's) but is the noon hour the ONLY hour in the day that they can schedule hauling their screaming bawling children to the grocery store???? I mean come on... those of us who work 50 hours a week use our lunch hour to get things done, not to tango in the isle trying to get around a passle of "play group" kids on a field trip!

To top it all of... after my $260 worth of groceries, there was no one left to sack them for all the "mommy groups" so I sacked them myself and had to carry them out myself, all so I can get back to work and fume over it.

I think there should be a law against people who don't work to stay out of the grocery store from 11am to 1pm during the week and let us workers have the opportunity to get our stuff done.

Anyway, done venting... like I said I have nothing against stay at home moms as long as they stay at home during the lunch time hours.

Or, as was the case with my brother and I, detonating the cat and shaving the TV hehe

That's nothing. My house maid and I use to shave ourselves, then detonate the cat's tv.

True, true.
My brother and I ended up detonating the neighbors doghouse and shaving their brat, but that was for entirely different reasons.
*chuckle*

I've seen what this rant is about,

I don't think you do. This rant is not about the kids It's about stay at home mothers who have the nerve to bring their children to the grocery store while all the truly valuable members of society (aka full time workers) are using it.

I'd personally be all for a nursery (or a cage, or whatever) at the grocery store. I'd also pay a premium, and I bet there are some stay at home moms who would too.

Exactly.

I remember being a bumper for two kids having a shopping cart race. One of them hit me smack in the rear, and kept going without saying sorry! I love kids, but... $@!$&^*(&~

Uh what did you do with 260 dollars worth of groceries in a hot car all day while you were working. Rotting meat, melted icecream, warm beer.

One of the neighborhood kids decided he wanted to torment our dog, so we made him eat cr@p...literally

I was a pretty quiet kid, but I tended to wander off in stores so when I was little Mother Slim had one of those leashes. I still wander off in stores, Mrs. Slim once took a half an hour to track me down in a Target.

"what is a mommy group?"

It's where MILF's get together and compare kids, husbands, etc. I can say this because my wife belongs to one.

LOL. Yeah, Walmart is just a goat rodeo. Our local Meijers is where most of the freaks hang out. I've learned to never go to a 24 hour grocery after 11pm... A different world.

Good point! I was wondering how he managed to buy $260 worth in a lunch hour (and assume what, 15 minutes of it was travel time?). I guess in some parts of the country, $260 isn't much.

I am not a stay at home but I am a mom....believe it or not there are times when I am thinking "LADY LOOK AT YOUR KID"!!!

This is usually when they are running around carts about to get smashed by them and not paying attention. My theory is: If your child is under the age of lets say 7 please put them in the little buggy seats almost all grocery stores have. Isn't is safer for them?

Also I have noticed that when I do go to the grocery store during my lunch breaks ..I am not in the right mentality due to a time crunch. Grocery stores suck down time and patience both you will make sure you have before venturing in.
