I just spent my lunch hour at the grocery store. I was so ticked off by the time I left, I had sweat rolling down my face.
First of all, (and I'm not knocking stay at home mom's) but is the noon hour the ONLY hour in the day that they can schedule hauling their screaming bawling children to the grocery store???? I mean come on... those of us who work 50 hours a week use our lunch hour to get things done, not to tango in the isle trying to get around a passle of "play group" kids on a field trip!
To top it all of... after my $260 worth of groceries, there was no one left to sack them for all the "mommy groups" so I sacked them myself and had to carry them out myself, all so I can get back to work and fume over it.
I think there should be a law against people who don't work to stay out of the grocery store from 11am to 1pm during the week and let us workers have the opportunity to get our stuff done.
Anyway, done venting... like I said I have nothing against stay at home moms as long as they stay at home during the lunch time hours.
For the record I am a stay at home mom of two sons. Robbie is 5, JJ is 8. JJ is high functioning autistic. Trying to go grocery shopping earlier in the day if I have the kids with me can sometimes help as we can get everything we need and can be home to get the laundry/cooking/cleaning done. It also helps cause in some cases the kids are not as tired and hyper as they are in the early evening (JJ's best time is early afternoon).
We also may not have someone to watch our kids for us. My husband? He's a US Navy aircraft mechanic. Before that he was a US Navy submarine sonar technician. During his submarine duty he was out to sea a LOT.
My kids aren't the best behaved in the stores but I do my best to keep them in line. Don't assume all stay at home moms have it easy and can go to the store whenever we want because that simply isn't the case.

If I knew what a bon-bon was, I could tell you, but I don't think I have ever had one... too busy with the kids and house.
I take it you aren't married? Or maybe you are and your wife works also? Otherwise, I would wonder what her thoughts are on your opinion of 'stay-at-home" moms? inquiring minds want to know...
I agree - I try to get my stuff done early, while everyone is still cooperating, and while everyone (including myself) is in a good mood. That or I go late at night when the kids are in bed and hubby is home to watch after them. But sometimes the middle of the afternoon is the only time. Plus I don't think my kids should be shut away from the world - they need to be able to interact with other people. While not perfect, they do pretty well considering their challenges. I do keep a tight rein on them when we are out and about, but sometimes they are just kids. As a parent, I do the best I can.
Severa, my twins that are autistic will be 8 next month - they are such delightful little beings!!! I wish you well with your boys!

It's a shame I don't know where your local grocery store is located. If I did, I would buy it and offer free noise-making toys and caffeinated drinks to all children who come in during the hours of 11:00 and 1:00.

My 6 year old DS announced to my hubby Saturday, after being warned of punishment by me "Dad, we gots a problem with da womens." And his grammar is usually flawless! It was just so darn cute!
My kids never, not even once threw a fit in a store. They did once in a restaurant, from which I promptly removed them. It was the last time they tried that.
Mine is with regards to people who post pointless, inane vanities about some annoyance in their daily lives.
I feel like such a wimp! All we ever did to our Barbies was send them over a dam in a paper boat. Oh, and we ripped off their heads and threw 'em in the ocean. Dad always had to retrieve them.

What can I say, my brother and I were advanced.
We had been going ot pull the cathode out of a TV tube and use that as a laser core (has been done) and use it to melt dearest sisters Barbies.
Well.. the donor TV was repossessed by our Father who told us that if we DID successfully create a laser, we'd probably end up with some unwanted interest into our activities.
