The Red Sox just announced that the next time Manny Ramirez doesn't run out a fly ball, they will make him a "recess appointment" to the waiver list..again...Amazing week, fellow BB fans..nothing much happened...why?

Five so far..seen Pedro once..We should send Zambrano back to where ever he came from...I can't believe we gave up Kazmir for him..and put Heilman into the rotation..I'd trade Ichee and our bad Matsui for a plate of sushi at this point..

How's that for good company? I don't think people appreciate how historically significant Manny is. He'll be a first ballot HOFer. Why would we want this guy to end his career in another uniform? It's insanity.Interesting stats... thanks. I agree. As a Sox fan, I'll put up with Manny's occasional little "temper tantrums"... ;-)

NESN is a beautiful thing... I never get tried of the Rem-dog.
I wish I could say the same thing about the televison coverage for the nationals.
Thanks to comcast, it doesn't even exist.

While I was quite pissed at Manny for opening his damn mouth you cant argue with performance. he just blasted another 3 run jack and has now on August 3rd 101 RBI's

Did you see the big crash between Manny and Renteria tonight? I guess both are OK, but Manny is out of the game. Manny supposedly took the brunt of it... he ended up with a bloody nose and his right eye looked bloodshot. He walked off the field into the dugout with the team docs and smiled and waved to the crowd. Hope he's OK. The drama never ends with the Red Sox lately...

Yes Mirabelli just pinch hit for renteria. I think they are ok. Regarding Manny. Like I said I was pissed but unlike Pedro last year Manny is likeable and I find it more difficult to stay mad. While at the time I was not against trading Manny if we got some top notch pitching in return. Aubrey Huff is not adequate compensation for Manny Ramirez

Red Sox win again. 1..2..3.. in the ninth for Schill
To: nutmeg
He took a decent shot from Renteria tonight. Looks like he'll be all right.

NESN post-game show: Terry Francona said Manny is at Mass. General Hospital for tests. Hmmm...

It looked initially like Renteria took the worst of the collision.

really? prob just routine (hopefully) keep me posted if you would be so kind.
thanks

Yes, I think it's routine regarding Manny. I should've mentioned that Tito said Renteria will probably be back in the game tomorrow (1:05pm, NESN). Edgar is supposed to speak (taped just after the game) momentarily on the NESN post-game show w/Tom Caron and Dennis Eckersley.

NESN post-game show: Manny has checked out of Mass. General Hospital... no scrape on his eye, nor damage to cornea. Just "swelling and bruising around the eye". Not sure if he'll be in tomorrow's game, but will most likely be playing in Friday's game (at Minnesota, 8:10pm - NESN).
Manny day-to-day after collision
Edgar Renteria: Sore stomach and ribs, but OK... expected to play in Thursday's game at Fenway against the Royals (1:05pm, NESN). Edgar: "I thought Manny was gonna be OK 'cause... he's a big man, you know?" Edgar is tough to understand... I had to hear that twice before I understood what he said... LOL.
John Olerud is placed on the DL (pulled a hamstring during Sunday's game). Roberto Petagine is called up from the PawSox (AAA Pawtucket [Rhode Island] Red Sox).
