I never liked him. Any who went to his "concerts" wasted their money. He'd often show up so out of it on heroin that he had to be helped to the stage. Why people find that endearing is beyond me.

By 1970 Hendrix was by far the most popular musician among soldiers. You could walk across a base and hear his music blasting from cheap cassette players the whole way.

Hendrix was a musical genius who is still ahead of his time. He influenced most that have followed, yet no one sounds anything like him.

There might be better lead guitarists than Hendrix, there may be better rhythm guitarists than Hendrix, but nobody was better at switching between lead and rhythm than Jimi.
