one of the lost tribles of Israel!!!

Is that the "trouble with tribles" ?
They're Jewish??

( making fun of an obvious mis-spelling is incredibly shallow of me, I know.. what can I say? Sometimes I can be incredibly shallow... Ha! sucker for a "straight line".. )

Their cuisine has yet to evolve from the ice age!

I thought British cuisine was a pint and a curry. ;)

I thought the black hair came from the Spanish on the coast. Isn't that where the term "black Irish" came from?

A doctor once told me many (40 or more) years ago that black hair was actually extremely dark red hair. I have no idea if that is true or not.

Dunno where that term comes from, although I've heard it plenty of times throughout my life. The Normans invaded England, with William I usurping the throne (and making up a ludicrous story about how the king he killed had once told him, "if I am ever given the throne, I'll turn it over to you"). Within a century the Normans had carved out a fief on the coast of Ireland, and over the coming generations conquered and occupied the entire island. I'd make a wild guess that the black hair comes from that. However, "The Book of Invasions" details something like four (or more) semi-historical invasions by various ethnic groups, so it could have come from anywhere. :') Well, anywhere except Iberia, since it was Iberia that was invaded by the Celts, not the Celts who were invaded by Iberia. I don't think that's right. Red hair is a different kind of pigmentation. Every other hair color is larger or smaller quantities of black hair pigmentation. :')

English and Welsh are races apart.

The natural barriers around Wales protected her from outside incursions, as I remember from my reading.

Thanks! There's also the "Irish Tinkers", who are Romany in ancestry, and ultimately that ancestry leads to medieval India. :')

As I said, I do not know if it is true or not. It was a long time ago. I guess he made the comment because I used to have red hair, LOL, now it is sort of mostly gray.
