Last night, many of us read the thread wherein Petronski announced his coming marriage to madame Cyborg. (Check DRUDGE: Unnamed Senior White House source: Cyborg and Petronski to be married...). During the course of the Cyborg-Petronski Thread, the subject of a Free Republic feature wherein single Freepers can meet their fellow conservatives.
I have a simple proposition. We could start a regular thread akin to the Freeper Canteen. Such a regular thread could serve as an opportunity for single Freepers to engage in Virtual Mingling. Also, any Freepers who have single, conservative offspring would be welcome to participate so as to arrange for introductions for their kids.
Special note to Jim: Just think of how many conservative would not have met fellow right-minded folks had it not been for FR! Cyborg and Petronski owe you one.

The great generation. We could use more of 'em! True. I've found that when I'm carrying a ton of books across campus, the older professors will open a door for me. But when a group of younger men (I want to say boys because I feel so much older) are near the doors, I'll end up struggling by myself while they watch.

Of COURSE I did that. I even have my computer cable running through a tank of Heavy Water and Ovalltine.
Can't be too sure these days.
Bert and his minions are everywhere.

You haven't heard? Bert's dead. His grandson, Dworkson's in charge now...and things are even more precarious.
If you spread some amonia and catsup over the tinfoil, it really confuses 'em. It breaks their fazwatz--and you know that it takes months to get replacement parts for THOSE.
:-P

Well, this is a slightly different concept. The mission statement outlines this as more of a thread where the common bond is singleness but where the discussions are not geared towards match-making. Think of it more as a singles lounge rather than matchmaker.com

We're just playing around. :-) No harm...no foul.
It seems that this is a good place to loosen up and just be light-hearted.
I think Muttley loosed up his necktie--er, his leash; and I let my hair down (hard to do with short hair, mind you!).
:-) Life's good!

I agree.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to the "700,000 Carnivorous Mice" thread.

If they won't open a door for a lady, much less one with a ton of books in her hand, they are boys, IMHO.

I think this is a sensible idea .... just chatty and fun, no pressure, no stalking .. we just can't have too many FRiends. I'm new in the last 10 months to the beautiful, but big LIBERAL, party and union-controlled Windy City, and a tad over AARPage (is that 55 or 60?:0. BTW, I really admire your positive, upbeat attitude .. it's really very refreshing. Kudos on your initiative, and good luck in your FRiendships.
