I'm a little late but here nonetheless. Another not so good night. My mother, husband and all his family live in Meridan, MS. They all appear to be okay, but have no power and there phone service is very spotty. They finally have some ice but food is going to be a problem soon. They are fortunate thought that they have water.
My best friend from high school lives (lived) in Slidell, LA. It is gone. Most of her family either lived in Slidell or Picayune, MS. I can't reach any of them. Tried reaching her brother in Jackson, MS but the phone just rings.
I had reservations for 10/3 to met my mother in Biloxi, where we go twice a year. It too is gone.
This is probably the worst summer I can think of. I feel very fortunate though that I have the things I do and will continue to hope that my friend and her family got out when they could.
Hopefully, poking fun at these people will cheer us all up. :)
