Owners just arrived home. Husband picked him up and I told him what happened. He didn't seem to concerned so I really hope they follow up with his vet. I have a feeling I'm going to be getting a little visitor for afternoon tea from now on.

I saw Carrie's commercial on TV. Very nice. I can see why your crush reasserted itself, grin...

:) I had to see the commercial twice before I realized she was advertising Hershey Chocolate, not just the t-shirts :-P Wow, she has a smile that could melt rocks!

I like Sam. :) Nope there are no Sauls. My Dad's name is Thomas. We tell him not to doubt so much. What's funny is his middle name is Winston. So we would say that he would charge ahead to any decision he made and then doubt why he was doing it.:) I like strong sounding, old-fashioned male names. Not these new generation ones. I always liked the name Caleb. If I were to ever have a son that is the name I would choose. Sam isn't used often. I do like that.

Well, the Nyquil is kicking in so I believe I am going to turn in. Good night. See you tomorrow.

I really have begun to like Kelly Clarkson. You are the reason for that.

Kelly was my favorite from the first season. Clay in the second. I didn't really have a favorite in the third. In the fourth, I started out liking Carrie, but became a Bo fan by the end of the season.

I don't like the stuck-up attitude of many people in the music industry toward the top AI alumni. I mean, it's not like the industry is so wonderful in pushing rap thugs, and Justin Timberlake boy-band types, and the slutty pop tarts like Britney Spears.

I like using Kelly's remarkable rise to the top as a benchmark for the other top AI alumni. She's shown the way to do it. Josh Gracin is following a path similar to Kelly, except in country music, and it looks like he has a bright future.

Clay, of course, could carve out a good career for himself. But he doesn't appear to have the same drive that Kelly and Josh have. Clay has sold his home in Southern California and moved back to his home state. He doesn't appear to be in any hurry to put out his 2nd (non-holiday) album. And that's all good. He always did seem to have more of an ambition to work with kids than to have a show biz career. Clay is very smart and will do good whatever he decides to do with his life.

Fantasia is the only other AI alum who's got a real career going in music, although she seems content to stay in the urban genre.

So I hope the best for Carrie and Bo. Both are very talented, and both seem willing to put the work into their careers that will give them a shot at the big time. The more Kelly succeeds, perhaps they will have less of a hill to climb in achieving acceptance in the industry.

Fantasia sold about 1.5 or 1.6 million of her first album. I'm looking for Carrie to at least sell 2 million of her first one. Bo's had a serious set back with his illness. But when he gets well and can work again, he'll be releasing an album at a time when rock is making a comeback. So if he can put together some really good material, he might make it really big. He needs to do what Kelly did, which is to insist on doing material he really can get into instead of doing the junk pop the Clive Davis and the AI producers tend to push.

Heck, even 1940's boogie woogie jive (which led to 50's rock and roll) is making a bit of a comeback. Country star Gretchen Wilson has a new hit song out called "All Jacked Up," which is a 2005 version of true booie woogie. Very cool. So Bo has a real shot if he can put a first rate rock album together.

I saw a concert on CMT about two weeks ago. Montgomery Gentry playing with Lynnrd Skynnrd. They did a full concert of southern rock and it was GREAT. I love that sound. Five great guitar players, a real piano instead of just an electric keyboard, a fabulous drummer, and other instruments. Now THAT's entertainment.

Reminded me of a wonderful concert PBS plays a lot during their pledge drives called Roy Orbison in Black and White. Not long before his death, a number of Orbison's friends who had become big in their own right joined him in this concert. KD Lang, Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Rait and others. Just terrific rock and roll.

So here's to Bo. I hope he puts together a smash rock album.

Good morning group.....couldn't post last night..the batteries in the remote died, and there were NO replacements in the house..and I was busy jumping up and switching between this, the Yankees getting crushed, and the Mets doing the crushing....glorious day...

FYI..there was a blurb in the NY POST TV section yesterday that the FOX network...the regular stations..not the New chanell, which are now also under Ailes are developing an "urban themed" mornign talk show starrring the hostess of this show..(mind blanks) AND Randy from AI...

I love the southern rock sound too. The best concert I have ever been to was to see Charlie Daniels and his band at Opryland. He kept everyone on their feet, especially with the song "The Devil went down to Georgia." A few years later 9-11 happened and he came out with "It's the flag not a rag." He is great and very talented.

A likely story :)

I heard Randy was going to try a talk show. Pfft. It'll be canceled after a couple months, just like Seacrest's.

Interesting. Good Day L.A. had been expanded into a national morning talk show, but it tanked. Then they tried a talk show with Ryan Seacrest and it tanked. So now we get to see if Randy can succeed where the others couldn't.

Good morning, Jonny and Emily.

You won't be surprised if I tell you my favorite part of last night's show was the little dog that one dance teacher/coreographer was holding in her lap. I actually hit the rewind on my remote to get a better look at the little mutt.

As for the rest of the show, for whatever reason I couldn't get into it as much as last week. What was that blubbering fest all about in the beginning? Sheesh! I felt like telling that one dude (a word used with uncertainty here) they booted off to stop blubbering and go home to his mommy. I'd hate to see these people if something really bad happened in their lives.

Snow softened her look a little bit this week, and that let me see past her severe features to realize she's a superb dancer. None of the other women stand out much to me.

To me, Nick is by far the best of the male dancers, and probably the best overall dancer on the show.

I'm not into hip-hop, so I didn't get why the judges were raving about that one chick who could barely be seen underneath all that 'phunk' clothing.

I think the curly haired male judge has a crush on one of the guy dancers. Sorry I can't remember the dancer's name.

Came across an article a few days ago that said TV ratings were down big time this summer. A lot of shows that were expected to be hits tanked. The article said FOX was not giving up on this dance show (or words to that effect). While not a smash, it's done better than most of the summer shows.

Funny, isn't it. TV entertainment show ratings are down. Movie attendance is down. TV network news ratings are down. Newspaper readership is down. Hmmmm...could it be that the 62,000,000 or so folks who voted for President Bush are not amused?

I know I'm not amused. :) I haven't watched any t.v. this summer, not even this show. Spent my time playing games with the girls, watching old movies, putting puzzles together and reading. I imagine the entertainment industry hates freepers because not many watch anything except FOX news, 24 and American Idol. :) OOps and TAR! I am just so tired of trying to find something decent my whole family can watch. I sure miss Cosby's show. :(

No, I'm not surprised :)

I don't know. It was really too much. But it seems like everybody cries when they're on TV nowadays--I blame Oprah :)

I felt like telling that one dude (a word used with uncertainty here)

ROFL! No kidding! Speaking of which:

I think the curly haired male judge has a crush on one of the guy dancers

He's not too obvious, is he :)

The article said FOX was not giving up on this dance show (or words to that effect). While not a smash, it's done better than most of the summer shows.

I suspect this is because the other shows are so bad--Rockstar INXS is awful! I can't stand to watch it more than two minutes.

Well said! It's that, plus TV and movies are being dumbed down while more and more people, with access to the Internet and alternate media, are becoming smarter, IMO.

Huge numbers of people are spending their free time on the internet these days. Especially the younger demographic that advertisers crave. In the meantime, the legacy media is still putting out product like it did half a century ago. It's remarkable how mid-20th Century they are midway through the first decade of the 21st.

Pretty much anyone under 60 -- and quite a few over -- are getting most of their news from the internet these days.
