I like cheese.
Welcome to the party, Victor!
From what I heard, she would be a solid pick. Conservative, strict constructivist (think Scalia), member of the Federalist Society, and so on. Chill, dude.
Want to outline why she is a 'moderate'?
Did he call you and reveal his pick? Then stop whining.
This is the first i've heard she is a moderate
Ridiculous statement, as nothing has happened yet. You are like the kid whining on Christmas Eve about his presents he hasn't opened. Relax.
We'll soon find out for sure whether or not we got duped by all those folks who said choose GWB for conservative justices, and put up with his socialist domestic agenda and anti-nationalist immigration policy.
I can tell how much I will like this judge by how much the left yells and screams. If the left goes ballistic then I know it is a good pick.
get a grip or buy a clue!
What's with all of this speculation of revolt? He hasn't made the nomination yet. He hasn't allowed speculation. He hasn't even hinted to reporters. The decision is his alone. If he changes his mind (whatever it currently is), it is his decision alone to make.
Why don't we wait and see what he does tonight. He has made promises, let's let him do the job we elected him to do...
If beings from another planet land in Washington DC and are allowed to stay, are mega-super-duper-REALLY-Conservatives going to bolt from the party because of Bush's soft stance on immigration?
I am not entirely certain that Edith Clement is a "moderate" as you say.
Absolutely - you got that right!
I don't have a good feeling at all about Pres. Bush on this..... ever since O'Conner's retirement announcement, Bush has been backpedaling on his campaign pledge, and the only group that he has chosen to publicly berate and chastise, is the conservative majority base that elected and re-elected him. I hope I'm wrong.... but conservatives have been on the short end of stick in every legislative or judicial battle ever since the Nov 2, 2004 election. Bush is not a principled conservative, he's at best a closet moderate who's more interested in appeasing the Rino's & the RATS!
If Bush betrays us tonight with his SCOTUS nominee by announcing pro-abortionist Edith Clement (ie where in the constitution is there a statement about the guarantee to privacy insuring the right to abortion ??? If that isn't judicial activism, then I don't know what would ), then conservatives ought to withhold their support en masse from the Republican Party.... I know I will!
Thank God for the "If Bush does xxxxx, I'm out of the republican party for good. . ." threads. They make me laugh!
I like to use tenderizer on my oatmeal.
Defend the moderate position you whine about? Cite her opinions and case law that I know you've read and studied to come up with that conclusion so quickly.
wine with your cheese?
I'll bet she is in great physical shape for 57!
Yeah, sure you have.
