Christian Rock

Posted on 07/17/2005 7:01:50 PM PDT by nonincriminatin

I'm trying to get into the Christian rock scene, but I'm totally new to it and really don't have any idea which are the major bands. Can someone give me a primer? I'm also curious which major country singers are especially Christian. Thanks.

Why did everyone add in keywords about being a troll. For the love of God, I swear some people can be so closed minded. Makes me sad.

Yeah, seriously, why the hell did I get labeled a troll? My question is totally legit.

Lots of kinds of Christian rock.

What kind of rock music do you like?

And are you looking to PLAY it or LISTEN to it?

The best Christian album I've heard in years is by a guy named Toby Mac. He is one-third of the closest thing contemporary Christian rock has to a supergroup - D.C. Talk. Toby Mac has done a solo album called Diverse City. It is absolutely stunning. If you like hip hop, rock, and pop, don't waste another minute.

I'm looking to listen, not play. What I'm interested in is just knowing who the most popular Christian rockers are so I can familiarize myself with the genre.

Like I said, there are lots of styles of Christian music.

What kind of "rock" music do you like? Every style from Mariah Carey to Papa Roach is considered rock.

What do YOU like?

Use any internet search engine. Type in "Christian Rock". That should get you started. Also, any Record/Music stores, or iTunes...

I'm trying to get into the Christian rock scene

And what exactly does it mean to "get into" the Christian rock scene?
