I was trying to get her head, but the pictures do not show how pretty her head is. It was one of the prettiest ones I've seen.
Here is Rusty walking thru the barn:). He wasn't sure of it:) But never jumped or spooked, just walked thru looking.
Her round pen.
Her indoor arena.
On the other side of the round pen is another bigger arena, that is Rusty in the corner.

The place is beautiful, like you said it was. :~D
You're right, you can't really tell anything about the mare's head, but her color is pretty. I've just about decided that the only way to get a good head shot of a horse is to either tie them to something or get somebody to hold them, then get somebody else to stand just out of camera range and do goofy stuff so they'll perk up their ears. The whole time I was trying to take pictures of my crew I had them tied to the back of the trailer and was throwing my hat, my jacket, or anything else I could get my hands on out in front of them to make them look. It's about as aggravating as trying to get a dog to look at something. They usually just look at your hand. The thing I had the best luck with was throwing a feed sack with just a little grain in the bottom. They'd perk up pretty good for that. Goofy horses!
Your friend sure has a nice place. I like the way her round pens slant outward from bottom to top so you don't hang a toe in them as you're going around. Her barns are nice too. I liked the picture of Rusty checking it out. He may not have spooked, but he had that feet-planted-wide-apart stance in the back that says "I'm ready to boogy if anything jumps out at me." ;o)
