This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I love your pictures! That is a very pretty mare and she sure as heck looks younger than 29. Can't wait to see more...
You have lots of nice shade where you are and it's really pretty. Your pictures always look relaxing to me. I'll try to post some pics today, I took some yesterday of the small town we live near.
I am a big fan of big shady trees.... but of course... I'd look at them with a different eye if we had hurricanes comin'. Our house would get ~flattened~
But then, maybe that's the best thing.... since it's just a mobile... the trees'll help hold it down, keep it from sailing past the neighbors. ;~D
Oh - and good morning everyone!
We're celebrating my dad's birthday today, goin up to take him out to breakfast. :~D
Oh wow that sounds good. :-)
Good pics, nice horse and the rider is a cutie.....
Have you asked her to join FR saddle club yet?
You're all dried up down there! You didn't even get any showers at all from the hurricanes?
Not a friggin' drop.
flirt...
It is a cool old hobbit house! It's perfect for me!
Great pics, not good news about the water though........as for hobbit house, why dont you make it into a play house for the children? Ask the older ones to help you paint and spruce it up, so that they feel like it's theirs! It seems a shame to tear it down!~
Wow, that house is so cool!
Oh, don't tear it down. Fix it up. It would make a good play house or guest apartment or you could just fix it up for you when you need to be by yourself awhile.
That house just isn't safe. It's very old and cheaply built, it's a fire hazard, there are no windows you can open to let out the old stink, it's built up on concrete blocks and it there's tons of snakes and creepie crawlies living under there. It looks really neat in the picture but it's not neat in person. It looks like a junk heap. Oh, the water line broke and flooded as far as the neighbors so we had to disconnect the water supply. There is another house on this property, we just closed on it Friday so the people are still living there. It's a much nicer home, an old farmhouse, that we'll probably rent out or use it for our parents when they get too old to live by themselves.
