This little bird smacked hard into the front windows and fell to the ground, he was moving his head around, but not taking off again when I had to leave for an errand. I couldn't tell if he was just shaken or mortally wounded, but his neck didn't seem broken.
I needed to be able to let the dogs and the cat out to pee, so I picked him up and put him in Bay's stall, where he could have some protection from the pets and still fly out if/when he got his wits together.
He was gone when I got home, so I'm hopeful.

Ah poor little birdie..that's a pretty cool picture.
Here is a picture of the gray mare of my daughter's Aunt. She is going to the sale Saturday.
They had her for their daughter, but she was afraid of her. She rides good, and is bred well.
But, she has this big melanoma on her butt. A few small ones on her side. Some grays get them.
To: MissTargets
What kind of sale? Not being sold out for dog food yet is she?
I know about greys and melanomas.... which is why I've heard the meat buyers won't buy greys, at least for human consumption.

No, not a meat sale. It's the same place that we bought Biscuit at last year. The sale manager does not take any kind of "killers" at this sale. He holds a spring and fall sale. They bring in quite a few horses from the West. Some go for big prices too.
I see you are on the FR gamers thread too. I signed up for it too. It's nice to be able to play online with like minded people.
To: MissTargets
Good.... I hope she finds a good home. They can go a long time with those melanomas and be just fine.
I'm on the ping list for that gamers thread, but I haven't participated much, or played much lately. I really need to get the newer version of UT... I'm out of date.

Will do. Eddie went to a disater planning meeting today. He said Gov. Perry has buses, trains and ambulances available on stand by for us. We have 32 hours to see what happens. We could start evacuating tomorrow afternoon if she doesn't turn. Eddie also said they were told that if any nusring homes refused a mandatory evac that the AG would prosecute and TDH would be at the door to make sure the evacuation happened.

I have just been ordering the second half of the year materials and work books for Emma and Jacob. It looks like Emma will have no problem completing grade 8 this year, she is already in high school for one subject and will in 9th for the rest next year! Not bad for an 11 year old!
I can't thank you both enough for the encouragement and help with homeschooling. Jacob (6) is loving his second grade work and Emma loves hers too. : )
Tuffy, How is your horse today?
Cindydawg, I do hope that the you and Eddie stay safe... : )

This looks like single dose every two months (or whatever your worming schedule is) Is it expensive? I'm buying paste wormer at about $3.75 per dose right now.

I dry all the horse tack/blankets, sheets, etc. in Bounce. It does seem to help with flies. I don't think they like the smell of it.
Can your daughter suggest to her doctor that she may have contracted EEE - that she would appreciate being tested? It's hard to know, some doctors don't mind, some get very upset if you make any suggestions.

Very odd about the judge. Perhaps he gave off an odor that the horse associated with something/someone horrible.

She's a pretty mare, it's too bad about the melanoma. Sometimes Extera and tagament will reduce them and/or stop reoccurance.

Stay safe Cindy. Do you have a place to take the horses if need be?

You have NO idea. We just got a case of west nile on my campus! A bird had it, and they captured another sick one.
