This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Yep, it'd be nice. When I ride Tennessee I'm usually head and shoulders above everybody else. It comes in really handy when going through deep water but it sure is a pain when going under low hanging branches! Every time I go to get on him I think my leg just ain't gonna go up that high this time. It's a good thing I always wear stretch pants or I never would make it! ;o)
Dang Cindy, I just heard a weather report on the hurricaine. I think you need to get out of there. If it doesn't take that turn to the north like they said it could hit you guys head on.....

Yes I do, Waco seems to be home. Baylor is a good school. Will your daughter transfer in or be a freshman? This year there was a housing shortage on campus. If she chooses Baylor look for a place very early. They made freshman look for residences away from campus this year.
I have a dear friend that has apartments right at the edge of Baylor. If your daughter decides to go, let me know and I'll get Alice's number for you.

We haven't talked about doing anything. Mack is sacked out on the couch right now. he was up and at work at 5 this morning, trying to avoid the heat. He has to work tomorrow too, so we'll probably just hang here. After 31 it's more scary to remember then not:).

Congratulations on 31! We are 26 years behind you! I'll be 63 before we hit 31 years of being married!
I am concerned. We are now out of the cone and every model and forecaster says it will curve north but... Tomorrow we will see. We will either be taking a sigh of relief or getting everyone out of the city.
I sure hope it curves. I'd hate to think of you and your horses trying to get out of that mess. Will keep fingers crossed!

Well mack woke up and I guess we are going to go eat. He said after 31 years we're entitled to a good meal:) We went to a new place last week one day and I think we're going back there. Some one got smart and built a real nice complex, (I'll take my camera), along the river in Jenks. We went by there a few weekends ago and the place was packed out, an hour and half wait to eat, we left that day.

Call 'em, maybe they have "Call ahead" seating. One of the restaurants around here has started doing that. That way your table would be waiting for you when you got there.
I suggest Mack calls them and tells them its your 31st anniversary! they might not make you wait in line! : )
Well we're leaving here pretty quick. Going this early on a week day we won't have to wait. When we went last week there was no wait. If I'm going to eat a large meal, I like doing it early. i hate going to bed stuffed:).
This is a Mexican food place, so it's all the chips and salsa you can hold, and I hold alot of that stuff:)
