The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I think that is what happened. We all put in a lot of sress and hours to get certified and after it was over started getting sick. I'm not coughing as much and starting to feel a little better though. My medical director put me on Z pak and it's working.

I'm the same. Johnny and I work ac control constantly. He keeps it below 70 and says "It's hot in here". The dogs and I stay covered up with blankets. I have to attempt to turn it up when he leaves though.

You should fly in tonight and go to Dr. Watsons lecture on DNA.

He's with the air force.
you two just wouldn't survive in the UK! temps of 70 are very HOT! That would be a very good summer! LOL
Deaconjim has laughed at my summer vacation pics of Emma, Dave and I on the beach in July in thick padded jackets! LOL On my second vacation with Dave in Wales we had snow. (July!). : )

I don't do well with the high temperatures and humidity here. My first summer in America I stayed indoors with the air conditioning.
Heck my car in the UK didn't have air nor did my home, but I made sure we had plenty of wood and coal for the fire! : )
I like it cold. I love snow, warm fires, crisp mornings, thawing out your toes! It's invigorating! : )

I don't know. I'm thinking 200 an hour and 70 degree summers, I could turn up the air conditioner then. Sounds pretty good.

I was sure hoping you said something like that. I was afraid you meant she implied that in a mean way towards family members.

lol. We have a cold gene in our family. Some of us just don't do well with ac and like it off or huddle in blankets. The ones that are "normal" think we are cold blooded as in "ice in our veins" regarding always talking about being cold .

I had a good visit at Debbie's, pictures loading. She loaned me a pad that I feel will work, now if I can just find one of my own. It looks like just one of those white fluffy ones, but it has a pocket at the back that a wedge piece of foam fits in. She said not only will it pad the horse, but it will also set me up better. She said I might not like the feel of it at first.

I took Harley and Rusty with me. We put the saddle on Harley and she said it looked like it fit just fine, and with this pad I should not have more problems.

She liked Rusty and actually asked me to leave him there for a day or so. She may have someone who might be interested. So I left him.

Becky
