Any Arizonians(sp.?) care to jump in and explain to me how these liberal "Republicans" keep getting elected? I mean, c'mon, Kolbe and Flake are not Republicans. What is the outlook for 2006? Randy Graf seems like a good choice, butcan he win in District 8? Plus, people are saying that Russell Pearce may run for Governor against Napolitano, or against Flake. I like Pearce, think he would be greate in either position. Can anyone with any insight tell me if Kolbe, Flake, or Napolitano can actually be defeated? I'm really pulling for Graf against Kolbe!
Please post your vanities in the chat forum or on an exsisting thread.
Thanks.
Kolbe keeps winning because his territory is Tucson the Democratic stronghold in Arizona. We keep trying to beat him in primaries but it never works, then for the general election we get a choice between a liberal Rep and a liberal Dem and vote for the Rep because at least he helps us with the basic numbers game. He gets all the GOP vote and enough Dem crossover to stay secure.
There are grumblings that this might change in 06, however. The illegal immigration issue has become very explosive in the area, especially with the Minuteman Project. Am I wrong, or did Graf get 43% of the Primary vote last time? I'm hoping that Russell Pearce runs against Flake or Napolitano. Check out russellpearce.com. He seems like a good guy, and unlike many politicians actually takes the time to respond to emails. The trio of Kolbe, Flake, and Napolitano are killing us.
There have been grumbling that this might change every 2 years for as long as I've been paying attention. So far no real GOPer has managed to beat him in the primaries, and there's a good chance that if one beat him in the primaries that GOPer would lose in the general election. Don't remember how Graf did last year, just that I voted for him and he lost. Local Dems LOVE Kolbe, there are many Dems here that have never voted for any other Rep on any level of government but vote for Kolbe every two years.
How can you discuss Arizona rinos without even mentioning the biggest one in the state?
Because we can't beat McCain. No matter how much people in Arizona complain about him, he will always win.
