I'm sure that was nerve wracking, but at least Stephen was old enough that he could deal with it. Good, too, that he had something on him with the school's address. When we were in Japan, we made sure each one of the girls had the address of Gina's house as well as her cell phone and house phone #'s. I had them, as well, since I'd have never been able to find her place without it.
I'm glad he had the presence of mind to go back to the school rather than wandering aimlessly in hopes of finding the group - as crowded as the city was, he never would have, and he might have gotten much more lost than he was.
I still think of him as a little kid, though of course he isn't anymore - he's 17. Hard to believe for me! So when Margaret was telling me the story, I was just inwardly cringing, and glad I was hearing it after the fact!
