The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

THAT sounds COOL!!! Ive got it bookmarked now!! I am going to be out of town over the weekend, but will definitely take a look at it when I get back.

Thank you SuziQ - I love what I have seen of the Usborne books. Chik-fil-A apparently has some kind of set up with Usborne and DK publishing, because when Erin would get her Kid's Meal, they would usually have a booklet of various topics in with the meal (instead of a goofy toy) and I loved the way the books were set up.

Heres my link to my Usborne page

Everyone, please pray for a speedy recovery for Ramius!

He's been admitted to the hospital... it turns out it wasn't a hernia like they thought, but rather is an abcess. Apparently yesterday at urgent care he saw a nurse who diagnosed it to be a hernia and he never saw a doctor. The surgeon today was not too pleased about that, because it has of course had time to get worse now. Hopefully antibiotics will act quickly to reduce infection and pain... they are taking it pretty seriously.

Right now he's sitting in a hospital type room watching TV... He's tired, he's been too uncomfortable to sleep much. We're planning to go up there in the morning.

Oh, Hair, I'm so sorry! Please tell him to rest up and get well from us. OB's whittling wood in Marshall, but I'll be sure and tell him tomorrow when I drive over to visit him and meet the g'nads.

He doesn't know.... He hasn't seen the doc again since admitting. They're kindof waiting around for him now.

Worked late. Not going. Phooey.

Would have been a little picnic, I imagine.

No - I don't think so, he could be out by tomorrow, I don't think he'll be in there days, unless I just don't have a grasp on the situation. When I asked him, he said it was too soon to decide about Sunday, but if he's up to it, we can still go up there. [he just won't be able to play beach volleyball] ;~D

I think we'll know more tomorrow. I'd like to think we'll be fine to go do all our sightseeing and such as planned. Do you have limitations on your ticket?

I dunno how much they'd charge to change them. I guess I should check it out. I don't think I got a discounted fare to begin with.

Hope Ramius will be feeling chipper soon!

I do too... Abcesses are painful, but if they can get it drained it and some antibiotics in 'im, it feels better immediately. I think he's hospitalized because it went a day longer than they should have, and they're very concerned about him moving around and causing it to break up and spread infection throughout the body.

I hear they gave him Morphine... so he's out of it now.

Lets do this.... we might have to ad lib about Sunday if he's still hurting, but I think we can still do what we planned.

Okay....that sounds good. Don't want to put any strain or anything on Ramius if he isn't feeling well.
