The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hey, you helped me! Indirectly.

My foot split open again. Just one little spot but that one little spot just doesn't seem to want to heal up! It hurts like a nail jabbing in it.

Then I remembered your finger cut! I went and got that liquid bandage and filled up the split! So far so good, it's not even hurting.

Yippee!

The first thing I do when I get broadband is I'm gonna download music! From iTunes or somthing...yahoo music or so.

I'm here but just for a sec...Steve should be home any minute. He's been working on his paper since this morning.

Amazon has a downloads place in their download session for free music. Sample tracks. Most are complete tracks, and free, as I said. I've gotten a number of good things there.

Some sections are better than others. There's a lot of bluegrass available...not so much Celtic, but some.

At this moment in history, my siblings are sleeping out in the middle of a field in Germany.

Hope it isn't raining...

Actually, I'm kinda tired, and was just doing a last update before going to lay down.

Have a good night!

Heard a good bluegrass joke the other day:

What do you get when you play bluegrass music backwards?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
You get out of prison, your girlfriend comes back, you get your farm back, your dog doesn't die, your truck doesn't wreck....

For example: a few years of end-user helpdesk support experience without a murder conviction... that's a good indication... :-)

T'weren't murder, the user deserved killin'.

I've only thought about knee-cappin' users once or twice. I figured they still use their knees every day, which is more than I can say of their brains.

Heh...that ain't about bluegrass. It's about country.

If it were about bluegrass, the girl friend would hafta get unmurdered. And I don't think bluegrass has trucks. Just lonesome soundin' trains.
