The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Uhmm, about 9 years and 5 more months to reach a million...
Surprisingly, we reached 8500 posts in 42 days on the last thread, which is not a bad average; about 200 posts per day.

Goooooood morning! Izzit Friday yet? I need to stop saying that because I have 20+ relatives coming over this weekend for a summer B-B-Que and I'm nowhere close to ready. ~~stress~~
On an anti-stress note, I finished book #11. Rollicking good series - fantastic characters, lots of belly laughs, and very witty reparte. I was getting frustrated with the lack of character development around #6-7 but Evanovich is finally starting to turn that around. Hurray.

Good morning!
Went to bed when the thread was locked, so I wouldn't suffer withdrawals. *grin*
Got my blood test results back this morning. Everything is perfect except my cholesterol, which is at 237. The doc says that ain't bad though.
And, most importantly, I'm here to say....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RAMIUS!

Everything is perfect except my cholesterol, which is at 237. Sheesh! Mine was 233 and he put me on the drugs (which I am no longer taking...)

Well, my doc is a mild-mannered sort. Thankfully, he isn't prone to over-medicate. He aid he'd give me a pamphlet and book suggestions tomorrow when I go to retake another test which concerned him.
I'm so glad to have him since I have enough drama coming from my mom.

Oh yeah, Maserati...that's the way to go.
I never thought much of Trans Ams or the like...they remind me of souped-up Chevettes and impress me equally much. I like them on the same level, you understand me? A new Cavalier and a new Trans Am mean about the same to me. I don't dislike either of them, I just don't feel impressed.
But a Maserati and the like...

2J has a great recipe for cholesterol medicine. Your doc might approve. ;)

We were just being silly. I'm a gal who likes trucks and standard transmissions. Even after I found out (from a teenager) that those interests are "like, totally lesbian" I still like trucks. Phooey.
Cars are a fairly frequent topic of conversation in my office. One of the officemates' wife just capitulated with a "Fine! Buy whatever you want!" And that's when we started getting silly. 'Buy a Hummer! Buy a Jag! How about a Lotus! What about a Ferarri? Oh, I know, an Audi.' All just to tease his Mrs. a bit.
And then we hit the Maserati website....
and I said .... OOoooh!
