...and free range bunny...
*ducking*
Sautee in butter with some onion and whatever else sounds good?
And 2Js idea is good. Mmmm...I love breaded zucchini!
Also did it sliced, tossed in olive oil and spices and roasted in the oven a few times - I put something like Tony Chachere's on it, but any kinda spice mix could be good.
I did zucchini lasagna a coupla times last year. Came out awesome. I think I salted it first.
Ok, gotta go feed the kitty cats. They're *glaring* at me.
See y'alls tomorrow.
Hey, as far as I'm concerned, you're preachin' to the choir... I'd add to that, the way society has taken away the emphasis of the family as a good influence... my coworker today made a remark about "normal" people not being shaped by their families as much as I was. I think that's a horribly sad thing to do.
I also think half of the problems with kids today would be solved if the average family was four kids instead of two, it's harder to raise selfish little brats when the kids outnumber the parents.
Sorry I missed ya!
Becky had homework today. On her first day of school. :-/
11 spelling words, copy them 3 times each.
At least it was a short assignment.
Evenin' everyone!
Ramius - Glad to see you're back up and running with the new tablet. :-D
They are good...
Good grief! That teacher isn't trying to win any little friends, is she?
Doesn't look like it.
I guess she figures she doesn't want to waste any time on "getting to know you".
Nope. Liking the kids isn't what she's paid for...
I mean, you're on the ground there, you know the situation, but it sort of looks like it's shaping up to be a long year, wouldn't you say?
Evenin' All...

Still a little getting-the- hang to do...
The tablet stuff is really groovy. When I'm on the phone or taking notes in a meeting I typically do handwriting and not typewritten notes. The "MS Journal" and journal files is going to be really cool.
I *really* like the tablet for just browsing the web, or lurking FR. But for posting I'll probably continue to type. It's just plain faster...

Long year?
It's shaping to be a long week, chica.
One day at a time. We'll see how it goes.
Wanna hear the most irritating little tidbit yet? In order to make sure that Rebecca is placed in the Spanish class for non-Spanish speakers - I have to fill out a form.
Otherwise, the students are automatically placed in the Spanish for Spanish speakers class.
She got a "C" in Spanish last year because they stuck her in the wrong class and she didn't tell me anything until I asked her why she got a "C".
*sigh*
And this is verbatim from the school packet they sent home:
Home Learning: Your child will receive home learning everyday. It must be completed and turned in daily; it is part of your child's effort grade. On occasion, a home learning assignment will be given a letter grade. Home learning that is not turned in on time will be marked late, unless your child is absent. If your child is absent he/she will have one day to make up the work.
* As part of home learning, your child is required to read or 30 minutes at home everyday and log it. Sign the reading log daily!
The handwriting recognition is just plain cool!
But I know what you mean. I type a lot faster than I write! LOL!!
I hate you... we have twelve tomato plants, and we haven't picked one ripe tomato fer two fargin' weeks cuz the varmints keep gettin' 'em... we've lost over a hunert maters the past two weeks... we've kilt 6 tree rats, 2 possums and one coon, and the pilferage still ain't stopped...
Send a note to the teacher: "Then what do we need you for?"
That's a great idea, actually.
I already wrote a "love note" on the Spanish class packet. They provided a list of supplies needed for the class. In Spanish, of course.
No translated version anywhere to be found.
Even though I can easily read it, I didn't. I just wrote "How about providing us with this in English?" on the top of the page.
I'm no immigration-basher, but things like this DO bother me because my parents worked their butts off assimilating and learning English. It's not fair that the new folks getting here get everything baby-fed to them.
If they won't do it for themselves, make them learn it for their kids' sake.
* * *
And they wonder why people think there's something wrong with the system.
And what the heck? Automatically assume they speak Spanish? Um, no offense, but that's bloody stupid!
