The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Does it make you feel better if I say I have no idea what you're talking about?

Only three posts.

A rather lady-like little spam display, I'd say.

I'm gonna write a little letter,
Gonna mail it to my local DJ.
It's a rockin' rhythm record
I want my jockey to play.
Roll over Beethoven, I gotta hear it again today.

You know, my temperature's risin'
And the jukebox blows a fuse.
My heart's beatin' rhythm
And my soul keeps on singin' the blues.
Roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news.

I got the rockin' pneumonia,
I need a shot of rhythm and blues.
I think I'm rollin' arthritis
Sittin' down by the rhythm review.
Roll over Beethoven rockin' in two by two.

Well, if you feel you like it
Go get your lover, then reel and rock it.
Roll it over and move on up just
A trifle further and reel and rock it, roll it over,
Roll over Beethoven rockin' in two by two.

Well, early in the mornin' I'm a-givin' you a warnin'
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes?
Hey diddle diddle, I am playin' my fiddle,
Ain't got nothin' to lose.
Roll over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news.

You know she wiggles like a glowworm,
Dance like a spinnin' top.
She got a crazy partner,
Oughta see 'em reel and rock.
Long as she got a dime the music will never stop.

Roll over Beethoven,
Roll over Beethoven,
Roll over Beethoven,
Roll over Beethoven,
Roll over Beethoven and dig these rhythm and blues.

If'n I ever get a real job, I want to get a newer computer at some point.

At this point, I'm beginning to believe that ain't gonna happen, but...

Heh...I'm currently listening to Palestrina.

By comparison, Beethoven is a young whippersnapper.

You could fly here next week for a "new" computer. One of the local school systems is selling the ibooks they bought for their students. Selling 'em for $50 each.

Course there's nothing on them.

There are people actually flying in for this. It boggles the mind.

Yah... this one has had some rough miles. Its kinda busted up.

The new one is an IBM X41 tablet. Grooovy. Love them tablets. Its the way laptops should be.

Oooh...nice! I've gotten to play just a bit with a tablet PC before...vey cool.

And though IBM laptops are pricey enough to likely keep me from ever owning one...if I didn't have that to worry about, I sure wouldn't mind one. Very nice systems. I *love* their keyboards, and the way the cases feel.

If you paid me fifty bucks, I'm not sure I'd take one.

Oh, ok, so I'd take a free computer, even an evilBook. But not a Mac Mini. Got to move a professor with one of those today and she kept going all weird about it. Gimme a nice tower pc any day.
