The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I took the chicken coop off the white lattice base we made it. The base was falling apart. The original daisy covered coop is back down on the ground again. We fetch the eggs from the outside anyways.

Sounds good, are the chickens happy?

I think so. Benny Hen never really cared for it being up that high.

Jar Jar went right in and laid an egg! LOL!

Took the base and disassembled it best I could...unscrewed the boards. Some of them wouldn't unscrew though. Took a sledge hammer to it.

It died then.

ROFLOL!!

Back home from the beach house.... got hay, grain, bedding and Bay's joint supplement. We're probably broke now ;~D

When I drove into the store, I drove right into the middle of some kind of police action. Remember those odd swat-type looking cops that did something next-door before? It was them... a bunch of them, in plain clothes but with big bullet proof vests that say "POLICE" on them, driving 4 silver SUVs, no lights, no markings. Didn't even realize at first they were cops. I have no idea who those guys are, but they took a guy whose car they had surrounded.... The guy's car is still there, I imagine they'll send a tow truck.

We're probably broke now

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;~D But it's an OK time to go broke, what with tomorrow being payday and all.

Was the cop incident at the redneck trailer or just in the store parking lot?

In the store parking lot. Not busting the neighbor this time, was an unfamiliar vehicle. Between them and a delivery truck, they were blocking my way in, and I had to skirt around them to the driveway. Lots of store customers were standing around lookin'... I don't know what kind of show I missed. Looked like they had searched the car.

Get any pictures?

Maybe one of the store employees will be a able to shed a little light on it.

Yeah - I'll ask next time I go over there...

You think I could have hopped out and taken a few pics and not ended up getting a lot of attention for it? :~D

I just wonder what agency they are. They had the look of undercover types... wearing shorts and summer wear like they just made a big buy on Miami Vice. They didn't look like cops except for the vests. Are they state, county, feds? I dunno.
