It must be SHOUTINGMAN!
You have to SHOUT during a hurricane...
I'm always looking for ways to spread the joy. ;-)
Luke keeps asking. I keep saying no.
I probably won't see it till it's on TV.
I like the old one.
hmmmm....I wonder if he'd figure out the difference.
Yeah, this is Luke. He'd know.
We coulda snookered the other one.
Not us. We have the original and that's just fine.
Johnny Depp disgusts me no end. I'd rather ponder the lint in my navel than watch anything he's in.
Hello! Been Ebaying like mad getting curriculum. I've bought almost $200 worth of curriculum for 1/3 to cost (including shipping!)
Also reading up on once a month cooking...
I like Johnny Depp, and I'm no wilting flower, but I think the new version looks creepy, like the semi-horror Willie Wonka.
I didn't find anything objectionable. Good pro-family message at the end.
You can dance if you want to.
You can leave your friends behind,
'Cause your friends don't dance, and, if they don't dance,
Then they're no friends of mine.
I trust Shelob suffered a bitter fate. How 'bout you?
Evenin' folkses... :-) [sip]
We don't know where Shelob is...we didn't notice when she got us...
I'd think I'd notice if Shelob bit me...
Even still!
Boy the knife emails are coming in at an alarming rate still... ecurbh is about to post some more. what more could we do to fundraise? You think JimRob would tolerate a thread on it? Would winmag want anything that ~public~?
I dunno. Maybe now that the freepathon is over he'd go for it. At the same time, we know it would just generate more requests.
I can send more next week.
We're sending as much as we can right now, too....
Maybe we should start sending them out with the wrong URL on them ;~D
I heard about your site from a Michigan Military Mom. My son returned from Iraq in January and we are not sure at this time if he is going to be redeployed. If you are still able to send him a knife, I know he would really appreciate it. Thank you for supporting our troops!!!
Hi my name is [redacted] and I am currently serving in Iraq. My command told me about your program about a free knive. I was looking through your inventory and the model CQB!SG caught my eye. I would really appreciate the gift for your support of our cause. Thank you for your support and your time.
I am currently stationed at Camp Liberty in Baghdad, Iraq with the U.S. Army. I have been seeing all these sharp new knives coming in the mail to fellow soldiers. I asked about them after seeing them and couldn't believe they told me that they had recieved them as free donations from you. I am writing to ask and see if it would be possible to get ahold of one of your knives. I saw the custom engraving and it looks really neat. I'm with an Infantry Battalion from Louisiana. If you could send a knife, could you please engrave it with [name redacted]. It would be greatly appreciated. Not really sure how this works, but the guys told me to request a certain knife and if you guys had it, you would engrave it and send it. The one that interested me was the one with this code (CQB1SG). God Bless you guys for your generosity!!
Hello, I am an American soldier in Iraq stationed at Camp liberty, I am with the 256th infantry brigade. I heard about the knifes you were sending to infantry soldiers here, so I thought I would try to. I have seen the CQB3 and it is one hell of a combat blade.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT, ITS FOLKS LIKE YOU THAT MAKE US FEEL BETTER ABOUT WHAT WE DO. if it's to much to ask could you put "Renegade 4 OIF III" on the blade
I heard that you are the one to get the Bandit memorial OIF knives from. Can you send me the CQB1SG with the following engraved on it
Hello my name is [redacted] and I heard about your program about the free knife to deployed soldiers. I would appreciate one sent to me. Thanks for your time and your support.
I am an Apache helicopter pilot on my way to OIF. I'm interested in the Black Gerber Aircrew knife. How do I go about acquiring one of these knives? Thanks in advance!
I recently found out about your organization. It makes me feel really good to know there are people out there who care about us and the equipment we carry. I can't express the amount of gratitude I felt when i found out about your organization. Man y of us are junior enlisted, and just can't afford a quality knife (which tends to be essential in our environment). I am an infantryman fulfilling a combat medic/shooter role because of civilian paramedic training. I was hoping I could get a few knives for the guys in my team if it isn't too much of a burden. Check out my blog to see what we have been doing here, we are doing a good job of training the Iraqi soldiers if I may toot my own horn! [Unfortunately, he didn't include a link to said blog, but I'll see if I can get the URL from him.]
I'm not sure what to do about it. One thing to know is whether we're keeping up with the supply/demand curve or not. If we think we can handle the anticipated demand then perhaps it isn't a crisis.
But this could explode on us. There's way over a hundred thousand troops over there, and we're not gonna be able to buy them all a knife. :-)
I do think we should make sure we're focusing first and foremost on the troops in the trenches. Not that the occasional REMF can't have a knife but that the guys dodging bullets and bombs daily get them first. IMHO.
I think that's a good priority.
