Drat!
Ohh! So will it tell them I only accept transfers and such?
Oh sheesh! I've been bidding on all this curriculum thinking I could put it on my credit card! Ack! What if I run into the same thing!!??
It's ok, I can afford it...but I better stop now!
Good question. i'll check.
As long as you have a PayPal account you can use your credit card thru PayPal.
It doesn't matter to PayPal how people pay them. You still get the money to your account.
People can opt to use a credit card, or have it deducted from their checking account. That doesn't matter for your receipt of the money.
Same the other way. As long as you've got a mechanism to put money in your PayPal account (which you have to have to set one up), then there's no problem.
PayPal is just the go-between.
You two...
Sigh. Am worrying about money again. Not sure how I'm going to afford my health insurance this year... I need a raise...
I think paypal charges a fee to take credit cards for you. Not sure on that though. It does cost THEM to be able to take them so it makes sense they would add a small fee to accounts that use them on the incoming side.
Ok...now it seems like I recall when I was doing troop support that I could not accept credit card donations because I didn't have a Paypal premiere account...I just had a free personal account.
That's why I'm worried, because if they try to pay me with a credit card, I was under the impression my account won't allow it.
It's been a long time, however, and I may be remembering wrong...
Just don't plan on getting sick this year. Problem solved!
I'm debating that, actually... the perscription benefit is so pathetic, and I have what should be enough of the one medicine I really need a couple times a year. But I worry about what'll happen if I get in an accident.
A small fee, I could handle...I mean, the thing only cost me 59 cents and I'm selling it so far for $10.50.
Then regardless, that will be their problem. If they bid on the item, they are obligated by eBay to pay.
And I ~think~ Talon, that the premium for credit cards would be charged to the buyer.
Those fees are charge to the people accepting the money so it makes sense to pass those costs on to the people making money. As far as I have seen Paypal does not charge you any extra to send money to someone via a card. But people that want to get money via paypal usually have to setup a paid account not a free one.
Understood. But if 2J's account is not set up to take credit cards, it's up to the buyer and PayPal to figure out the other end.
I have a free PayPal account. AFAIK, I've not been charged for receiving payments (granted, I haven't sold ~that~ much)
Nope...according to PayPal, I can not accept credit or debit cards. If I upgrade to a Premiere or Business account, I can, for a fee.
Personal Account
Ideal if you shop online. Make secure payments on eBay and merchant websites using your credit card, debit card, or bank account
Premier Account
Perfect for both buying and selling. Make secure payments on eBay and merchant websites. Plus, accept credit card, debit card, and bank account payments for low fees.
Business Account
The right choice for your online business. Accept credit card, debit card, and bank account payments for low fees.
The thing is, my auction SAYS I can...which is misleading!
I shoulda said something in the body of the auction...no credit cards.
Oh my...
Well, I'll hope for the best. Or maybe I can just have them send the payment directly to Rick...he has a premiere account.
But I still contend that it's the buyer's responsibility. All you did was say to eBay "I accept PayPal."
It's up to eBay and PayPal to sort out how that transaction plays out.
That's just the standard PayPal logo on your auction.
