Just when I was getting happy about having meetings to go to (they're *much* less boring than my office has been lately...) I get saddled with all sorts of other work to do. Yaaaay! I'm busy again. (how sick is that???)

*grumble* Sometimes I ~really~ don't like my clients very much. They send things at the last minute instead of 72 hours prior as they're supposed to. Of course, management tells us to go ahead and enter the changes - which makes the 72 hour rule a complete joke and clients will never take it seriously.
It wouldn't be so bad if I had a dozen clients, but when you're talking 30 or so companies sending you changes for their payroll that same day - it gets aggravating.
Off to get coffee...
Weeeeelp, just got off the phone. Looks like I have a business trip to FL (Destin area) scheduled for 2-3 Aug. Yaaay.
Finally getting a little rain, maybe as much as .25 inches, even though they are getting 2-3 inches south of us. Sigh.
Guess I will go turn the lawn sprinklers on, or maybe I won't, so I can mow later today.
Why don't they ever send you to Tulsa??
I wouldn't invite you to stay with me, because if they send you to Tulsa, I'm sure they'd put you up in a hotel and I'd likely come hang out with you! LOL

Once while working for Uncle Sugar, came time for sexual harassment class, and I sez to the commander, I sez, "Cap'n," I sez, "Unless they're going to teach me how to do it, the inventory prep is prolly more important."
Being the sort of commander he was, he sez "Yep."

So take 72 hours to do it...
Found a company that will provide dial-up [shudder] for the week for only $20. They have some wireless options, but they don't quote a price on that. We'll live with the dialup.

Jr's home. He done better with the giftin' this time.
We had pizza last night. Nana (who had been told Sunday AND Monday that was what Jr. wanted) decides to wait until we're sitting down at the table to say "I'll fix myself something else, I can't eat the cheese" (you figger out the details). She then proceeded to pout all thru dinner. We ignored her. We ain't playin' that game.
Soooo......things getting back to normal?
Yeah, pretty much...Nana's just taking the first shift on the pouting rotation...

Ideally, we should be able to do that, so that clients would learn to be timely.
Unfortunately, management will get calls from clients complaining that such and such new emploeye wasn't included in the payroll and when they come by to tell us about the call, they'll say "I told the client that you'll just go ahead and enter it next time, even if it's late".
Clients have figured out that by calling the manager, they can get away with pretty much anything - and so the underlings like me are completely screwed.
If our managers don't enforce the rule, how on earth can we do it?
