The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So, if you bought coffee with your Starbucks application, are you going to buy a book with the B&N application?
This could get spendy.
I wouldn't recommend applyin' to any car dealerships...

I'm going to read it when Jen gets back.
*sigh* Unfortunately some jerk was spamming all the Harry Potter threads with spoilers, so I already know the biggest thing, unless he was lying.
If he'd done that ON the spoiler thread, I wouldn't mind, but it was on the older ones.
I'm not as into the books as many are, but I hate it when a story is spoiled - any story. It's just not a nice thing to do.

Still, it's better than the "chili" she makes with ketchup...ARGHHHH!
That should be illegal!

This way they don't ask me to, so it works well for me :~D
To: Corin Stormhands
LOL!
I don't think I'll be making any more purchases.
But yeah, if that WERE the case, I'd be limited.
Applying as a receptionist at a real estate office could ruin me.

Heh...why do you think Jen has been pestering me to apply at B&N?
Seriesly, REI appeals to me more, partly because they have classes for a lot of outdoor stuff, and I rarely buy new books...but we'll see. Maybe I won't get called. This has gotta be peak time for applications...though I suppose it's also their busy time.
I'm thinking REI would also be a good place to find hiking buddies and such. That'd be vey nice!

Kayaks...hm...
I wonder what their employee discount is like. Considering all the things I'd like to get into and will need gear for...that could make a hugh difference.
OK, I'm heading out to drop those off!

Heh...as even my little sister pointed out.
Mostly she was just impressed that there aren't many really seriesly out of shape people here. Or, in any case, they're a much smaller percentage of the population than there are elsewhere. Which tends to make me feel like a slob. ;-) But if it's motivation, that's a good thing.
NOW I'm off.
