Evening All.
Hair & OT: Looks like Labmoot was quite the success. Great pictures. Smoking volcano and all, very well planned, Hair. OT, still hot here, thought supposed to rain tonight and cool off to the upper 80s before heading back to the high 90s.
Ramius: very glad to hear you are home from the hospital, dodging the bullet is always welcome. Hmmm, 'better living through chemistry' is generally appropriate, saving them won't get you any brownine points, so might as well take them. They are paid for, you know. The chemist's need your support.
RMDupree: sounds like a great trail ride, you look quite comfortable and Becky looks like she's having the time of her life. I'll bet it won't be long till you are in the saddle again.
We had a great time.... Now.... though, I want to hit the couch and prop my feet up.... if I can convince my sprawled out husband to share :~D
Evening G'nad: thank's for posting the pics. Nice family and group picture, I'll dig out Sal's e-mail and forward that one to him.
Glad the young 'uns enjoyed the quiver and arrows, we all hope to see them next year at MoJAM, shooting all the critters on the woods walk range.
You left before the 'hatchet bow contest' was held. Mrsnad, you'll be pleased to know a woman won it.
What's a hatchet bow contest?
Heh, know the feeling. Who do you have to move first, Ecurbh or Homer. ? :-)
Yeah, I think I drew the best field trial assignment....although it could have been shorter on field trials and longer on mooting. :)
Hope the grass hasn't grown much....but on the other hand, hope my plants haven't died.
Evening Rosie, the contest is to build a hunting weight wood bow with one tool and one tool only, a small hand sized hatchet, like the ones sold for camping. Cut down a small tree and chop and scrape away all the extraneous wood, again, using the one hatchet (you are allowed to sharpen it) and craft your bow. You also have to make the string from a roll of B-50 type string material. It is a real challenging contest, only about a dozen or so individuals enter it on any given year. And no, never tried it myself.
Ah...interesting! I wouldn't have guessed from the name what it was all about.
Who wins, the one who finishes first? Or do they have to shoot with it to prove it works OK?
Heh, no time limit, you can take all year to do it if you want to. Yes, shooting is a very important part, all of the entrants havethe judges shoot to bows to see how they perform and just the 'tiller' or how well the limbs are shaped when pulled and their balance.
G'nite All
Good night everyone...
We just watched a really bad movie "Volcano".
That's the one.
Ugh... Talk about rude awakenings.... I forgot till it started at 10, our city fireworks display for the end of Lakefair was tonight. Back to quivering barking panting dogs... Just when we thought it was over.
OT didn't get up, but I'm sure she didn't sleep through the racket ;~D
Gooooood morning!
Great chicken pix. And congrats to you for going through with it! ((Hugs))
Great horse pics! Sorry about the soreness. Rebecca is a gorgeous girl!
Great volcano pics! I'd like to see that part of the country some day.
MO-Jam-Moot pics! Looks like fun!
I missed so many pics yesterday! Garsh.
Yeeeek. Glad everything turned out well. Prayers for a speedy, and complete, recovery.
